Pat:  Actually, they're all sitting on my backup drive, waiting for various fixes.  The greenhouses had a LOD problem that I didn't notice.  I've redone them, but haven't asked Andreas if he would fix the transparency again.  The bridge is finished too.  It's waiting for me to fix my lame attempts at texturing.  As for the snow markers, I could never get the plowed snow to look, well... like plowed snow. :D

figui:  I like that one best too.  The ploppable is TE'd for freight truck, as well as rail, so I needed to position the buildings and such so that the vehicles wouldn't appear to be driving through them.  :D

So, I was playing around with the BAT, looking for inspiration ::), and came up with this; Geere Robotics.  As usual, everything is subject to change.  This will be IHT, by the way.  Cheers!

Pat

Daaaaaaaaaum Jestarr that Geere Robotics building is looking nice... I bet if you
ask andreas if he would again fix the transparency issue he would.... The bridge
IMHO looks nice as is with the current textures... OK you got me on the plowed
snow look lol hmmmm maybe this winter i can take some good pics of plowed
snow up here in WI lol  :D ;)... Im again sorry for poking around in the thread
and bringing up old stuff buuuut Ive been good for awhile lol - pat

Sure I would - it doesn't take more than two or three minutes anyway. :)

Geere Robotics looks very nice so far, and more I-HT is highly appreciated, as I already stated. The brown bricks are probably not "high-tech-ish" enough, but as you said, it's a matter of change anyway. IMO, I-HT buildings don't need to look uber-fancy, but most of them are just big boxes with some shiny glass parts etc.

I like the biulding as is (just about) maybe the lot could be fancy.  Grass, nice parking, tree and flower bushes....  ::)

wow, i really like how geere robotics look like
may i suggest to add a wider door on the left side of the front? (or maybe there is one on other side of the building $%Grinno$%) i'm thinking of a 2 trucks wide one..

There seems to be a bit of a scale issue on the garage doors - and don't forget the yellow concrete safety piers on the sides.

I'm not sure how the interior would be set up, but on many loading bays, the pavement slopes down about 2-3 feet so that the truckbeds line up with the interior floor.  Of course, I've also seen warehouses where the entire interior floor is raised 3 feet above grade to accommodate the trucks.  That seems to be the configuration you've chosen.

Other than that, the building looks great.

jestarr

ardecila:  I noticed that after I'd posted the pic. &mmm  Fortunately, those types of things are easily fixable. ;D

OK, I've enlarged the rollup doors and reduced the entry door size slightly.  I've also removed the brick except for the "office" area.  I know the Maxis IHT lots are mostly boxes with some shiny stuff added, as Andreas said, but doing that grates on my nerves.  Besides, partial brick facades are common enough that I can get away with it. ;D  Anyway, here's a test render pic of it's current state.  Still a lot to do, (roof textures, roof junk, etc., etc.).  Cheers!

Geere Robotics is looking great. More Industrial is always a good thing.

We need more IHT.Thanx Jestarr.

Looks very nice Jestarr. I like the shape of the building and the bricks on the entrance. Using bricks only for the entrance is a very common way to build those kinds of industries nowadays. Bricks are esthetically more pleasing than steel facades but also much more expensive. So therefor you want to use bricks only on places where clients enter your building. That way you can keep the building costs low.

Andreas

I think bricks are not that common for this type of building in Germany, but it certainly adds a nice touch. Most modern lowrise office/service/industry buildings that have been built here recently are simple boxes with corrugated aluminum panel facades in various colors. The office part has windows with colorful frames, or the shiny glass parts that I mentioned, not unlike to modern office towers. Anyway, I'm looking forward to see the progress on this, the proportions of the doors and windows seem ok now. :)

Bricks are the preferred material for this kind of stuff where i am, i thought it looked best with all bricks, but, ah, oh well  :P $%Grinno$%

Pat

Jestarr I have to say that i really liked the all brick texture to the building but i do like the larger roll up doors... A thought i was thinking what about 2 diffrent versions of the building ie the current version and then the all brick version...  Current one could be the growable and the all brick could be the ploppable version, just a thought - pat

Cant wait for more progress.
I'm loving Geere Robotics. ;D

Geere Robotics looks great! Wonderfully generic and the type of development you see in business parks across North America. We could use more of this kind of thing. One suggestion, you might want to try putting an all black duplicate of the Geere letters behind the one up there now. It's a technique that Marczar showed me. Here's the difference it can make.

You can see how the black copy behind really makes the front letters pop out.... if that's the look you're after of course.

jestarr

spa:  Thanks, worked a treat! ;D

OK, we're back to Black's Ice again. :D  The modeling is finished and I've been working on the textures.  Below is my first in-game test checking on them; seeing if they hold up or not.  Also, I wanted to see if the lighting was good, bad, or indifferent. :D  Ignore the lot, it's just for testing.  Cheers!
