Wonderful work Geoff! It reminds me of a model rail  &apls

Yan077

CalibanX I love your 2 pictures
(except the wave effect with the river)

another pic'  ;)

bob56

very nice!! Love the shore of the stream and the buildings, especially the old church.
One suggestion I would have is the gravel-to-dirt SAM transition. I would suggest making a road in the middle. This works great at intersections. Nice job

@calibanx: Nice work with those two railway lines and the trees!

@Yan077: ca, c'est une tranquille rivière avec toutes ses plantes aquatic! (That's a tranquille river with all those water plants!)

The teaser from my recent MD update - I love how the valley has developed:

Enjoy!

Bernhard

Geoff - Beautiful work!  &apls
I especially like rolling hills, trees (excellent placement ) and the way you harmonize transit networks with the terrain. The railway on the first pic is just perfect!

Yan077 - beautiful picture too! Riversides are fantastic, I love the left bottom corner with trees and the house roof on the water background; this small harbour is very charming too
I saw in the Picture Competition that some people didn't like the camping area, but I like it a lot!  :)
Beautiful work with pastures. At least a part of Chrisadams' pasture flora was intended to harmonize it with terrain textures, but very few people know it and use it that way. Your pastures are a masterspiece! (although I would suggest to use Green Rye Grass or White Flowers instead of the "basic" green grass here and there; it is a bit too luminous for some reason).

Bernhard - that's a beautiful rural picture my friend! I guess you remember your homeland landscapes very good  :), they are close to my heart too, there are many similar rual landscapes in Germany and Poland (maybe German ones are a bit better organized  :D)

Gringamuyloca - yes, you was a good student in our class  :D
Your river is really great, beautiful riversides and the forest  &apls
Also good work with FAR and FARR networks. The only imperfection is the crossing at the top of the second picture (partially covered by trees  ;)). But transit network custom content is still developed and maybe there is no possibility to make it better at this time. I hope all texture issues will be removed from the FAR/SAM stuff soon  :)
I hope we will see more of your pictures in future! Maybe a Mayor's Diary?...  ;)

My first try at a rural area, if you want it call it so.. (i know .. a lot of trees..)

Please critizice it,
Fabian

Albus of Garaway

That's some pretty amazing work, Fabian! The image gives a really cool effect. I have a few minor suggestions that could make it even better though:

1. Next time when you use ploppable water for a pong, try not to use quite as many rocks. Use a few rocks near the edge and in the water itself, and then use a variety of bushes/logs to fill the rest of the area.

2. Using the NAM smooth road curves could boost this image from a 9/10 up to a 10/10. They really make a huge difference, and you should try them!

Great picture! I love it!

Might want to check out Deep River and Mountain View over at SimPeg, they have some very good hints on how to use this stuff.
