Just a few more page views and this exceptionally nice MD will move to the "Ones to Watch" category.  I've spent the last 15 minutes or so reading the whole thing from end to end, and that will be a well-deserved step, but certainly not the last.

Way to go, Pikatchoum.  Alancy was a great way to start my SC4D day!

Pikatchoum,

I didn't read your last post thoroughly - sorry!

QuoteToday I wanted to do a kind of teaser of another city near Alancy based on Le Havre (France) wich is one of the biggest harbour in France.
I'm quite proud of the begining, nervertheless the city crash each time i load it and i can't play anymore. I'll try to find the lot that causes the bug but if I can't the screen of today will be the last memory of a promising city IMO.

I suggest to check your Japanese lots. Maybe you have one of them in 2 versions - one from ST, and another one from japanese site.
I had similar situation with Somy Gyoko Marina. I downloaded it from ST, and some time later i downloaded "gyoko 2" from Somy's site (I didn't notice they look identical).
I had both of them in my Plugins folder, but I had only Marina in old region. It worked correctly. But when I started a new region and plopped gyoko2, I wasn't be able to open this city anymore. It crashed to desktop when I tried to open it.
Sorry, I don't have enough knowledge to find good solution. I had to delete a city (fortunately it was a test one), But I think there is a better way.  :)

_______Ones to Watch !!____ Yeah !____

Well, first of all, i'm very, very proud to be in the "Ones to Watch" section. I haven't updated Alancy yet because i want to make a great first update in this forum. That's the reason why i'm working on some customed lot to obtain a more realistic look.

_______________

Ennedi : I've checked all the lots i used in the harbor in another city, and i didn't find where does the bug come from. I guess i've forgotten one but i can't find it. I hope there is a better way than delete the city, first because i love what i diid inside, and then beacuse it's the second time i do that.

dedgren : Thanks a lot. Glad you took the time reading the (my :p ) MD. and , yes, i hope this wont be the last step, i gonna work hard for that. :)

Snaper : Thanks my friend. ;)

FromTheAshes : You're right, i think i gonna download it but as i'm working on some american style cities, i'm quite embarrassed having the euro texture in them. But, well, Alancy is my principal cj so that doesn't matter.

rooker1 : I love crowded transits :p , so realistic ^^ and vibrant.

toosheys : It's your first visit !, Welcome here !! Most of the lots are from Sommy. But be carefull with harbour's lots, as my own now crash.

bat : Thanks

kwakelaar : More coming soon. ^^

urban :  i hope too... ^^ Thanks anyway.

wouanagain : Always a pleasure to see you here. :)

Congratulations on making the "Ones to Watch," my friend! I'll be looking forward to your next update!

bat

Snaper

Keenly an update  :P

Pikatchoum

Thanks Snaper, bat and thundercrack83  :)

Well, as i can't give you an update, here a small mosaic from the city center to the financial district. Enjoy :).

tooheys

Well who needs an update with a teaser like that. That's one nice mosaic, sorry I just can't hold back, it's bloody bewt! ;D

Great work, well done on the move to "Ones to Watch", well deserved

Cheers

Dave

Beautiful teaser mosaic, Pikatchoum! The sunken road along the coast looks great, and I love the placement of the train station. Can't wait to see some more!

Pikatchoum

Well, I'm sorry... I was about to make an update today but yesterday after 4 hours working on the city, the game crashed when i wanted to save. Si i worked today, rebuilding and improving the lay out I wanted, and then, again, the game crashed (Always save before using the GLR ...rrrrr i should know taht).

"C'est la vie " like whe say but that means I won't make any update today and i don't know when i'll find the time and the courage to return -one more time- build the University and some residential area. So be patient :). Sometimes SC4 really drives you crazy...

Ps:
Thanks tooheys and thundertrack83 ;)

Pikatchoum

Well, not really an update but a kind of teasers (again - in french we could say "une mise en bouche).

5 screens just for you, enjoy them. I'm working more and more on the creation of cusomised lot and i'm proud of the résult.

Cente-Ville, Place du Tertre : The main plazza of the city.

Along the Tramway line, some modern and/or underpriviledged area. The university is really near and you can notice the modern students residences ( wich is not the case of all the students residences you can trust me.. ^^ )

thundercrack83

That's a very nice une mise en bouche, Pikatchoum! The plazas and the GLR look outstanding! Great work!

I am so glad to stumble on this MD (better late then never )

The Express Way, but most of all the exits, and the road/avenue connections on some of the next pages made me shiver from joy... they are beautifull!  But also the Parisian style neighbourhoods in the last update are soo nice.... I must remember to come here more often  :satisfied:

Bon retour and for longer I hope $%Grinno$%

It is absolutely superb, your road network is perfect, and your mixture of buildings is splendid  &apls

Châpeau mon ami, c'est toujours aussi magnifique

kwakelaar

The plaza is looking like a true centerpice, the pride of any city.

Pikatchoum

Thanks Kwakelaar, Snaper, Sebes, Thundercrack83.

Here is the Update, sorry I'm too tired to comment it. But , globally, the university, the tramway line and the suburb.

Wow! What a great city you have Pikatchoum! After catching up with all of the great creations I'm finding, I feel as though there couldn't be much more room left for stamps in my passport! Besides the bit of story, there's certainly quite a bit of detail. A few pages back, I even noticed an accident with what appeared to be an ambulance having just arrived. I'm sure that was all AI, but nevertheless adds realism to an otherwise quite realistic city! Fantastic!

rooker1

I just went through the last couple of updates and this is a great city you have here.  Very nicely laid out with lots of parking, I love parking lots, very realistic.  But what caught my eye was the bridge across the river and than over road and the GLR, great work, it looks perfect.

Another stunning update here, Pikatchoum!

I always find it to be pleasant whenever you have an update for us! I love the diagonal buildings in the first picture, and I do have a question for you: Where can I find the building in your third picture? The one with glass cylindrical building and the staircase going around it?
