Sam the Record Man

Hmm.. I've got this Sam the Record Man download, but it gives nothing but a fat brown box..

I have the BSC Spa Essentials and the mentioned dependencies, but still get just a box.. is there a known problem? I know this is an old lot that has been working fine for others.. what have I done wrong?

I do note that Cleanitol has removed Sam the Record Man PLOP3_f1cb9e6a.SC4Lot and a model file Sam the Record ManK-0x5ad0e817_0xd1c8eae0_0x30000.SC4Model .. was this a problem? Should I restore both, neither, something else or what?

When I put the model file back in it SEEMS to be ok, but there may be another more correct lot? Or perhaps this is a cleanitol problem? Or a procedural one?

The description with the Cleanitol file for spa's updated lots says:

This is the cleanitol file that when used with the cleanitol program will purge your hard drive of my old files. Use it only ONCE before you install my updated files. If you use it after having installed my newly released updates, Cleanitol will delete both the new and the old files. This is because the desc and lot files of the old and new are the same (kept the same names to avoid having to delete all past instances of each bat already in place in a built city). So again use it only ONCE and do so BEFORE you install my updated file.

It appears that you have used it AFTER installing the updated lots.

It isn't like me to go against file instructions.. possibly I confused myself.. It could happen..

Wonder if there are two versions floating around.. ? But certainly given the fact that I was left with NO MODEL file, the evidence leans toward my error, but it is odd that the LOT file is there.. I would have balked at removing a model at one time, but now they are occasionally being combined into "mega-model" files, so it doesn't seem so odd anymore. I assume the model file I put back is the correct one? I suppose I should leave the SC4LOT file out? They were both removed by cleanitol at the same time. Thanks for taking your valuable time..

I have come across another set of events .. which may be all related... I have noticed several files lately which will not query. When I click them, the proper sound (at least the "game default" sound) works, but no window appears. A few of these lots are:
SG Rite-Aide, Cold Stone Creamery, Big Peckers ..

I am not sure if these are all SG lots.. the titles sound like him.. but anyways.. Know what I may have missed? I'm pretty sure there used to be a file called "SG_Query" but I was instructed by an update cleanitol file to remove it. I assumed it had been combined into some other "essentials" file or something like that. Don't know if that is part of the problem or not.

You need SG_Extras but:
Please read the following first:
1. Make sure you have installed the latest version of BSC Essentials first.
2. Run the Cleanitol file for the SG extras and back up any files found.
3. Install SG Extras.
