Hey im a long time player but new to all the modding and downloading stuff, i have been reading and viewing alot of your cities etc...and i have some questions

Some files say ideal for an old city but how do you create one? Every city i build is the same style...well different lay out etc, but buildings, for example i cannot really put an old castle in my game or paris style buildings as the contrast between the rest is too much...

Also i saw alot of your canal building and wow how do you guys do it, i cant seem to put one together at all

Last but not least  :) I also hear alot of you talking about chicago, NY and euro tileset what is this? 5its not in my manual...so it must be something downloadable and im quiet curious about it!!!

Anyway thank you  ;D

Hey, Zeno! (Yes, I'm here, too...%wrd)

To build an old style city...well, it just takes some studying and a creative eye.  Look online for example of old-world cities and try and emulate those.  Search for downloads that would fit your theme...and most of all, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!

Canals...all it takes is one set or two.  Some people know how to work canals to do the craziest things (and I've seen some amazing things).  So yeah...just download a set (maybe BSC's or Pegasus), and try 'em out!

And about the tilesets...those aren't downloads.  They're in the game itself...they're just how the game groups buildings together.  There are four of them: Euro-Contemporary, '90's Houston, '40's New York and 1890's Chicago.  There are options in the game that let you choose which ones you want to appear in your city, and you can also somewhat choose how they will appear (all together, one at a time, etc.) (I think I said this somewhere else...hmmm...).  You don't need any sort of download to get these options to work.

Hmmm...I don't think I've helped you much at all here...

Well I think the building in different "scenrios" is just a matter of practice.. and knowing what is available.. Many of the people have been perfecting their work for years..

As to the styles, its simple.. its always been in the game as far as I know.. check the "T-Square" tool on the Mayors page (above the advisors)

Zenotheweno

the one that says build all styles at once and renew buildings every...years?

SC4BOY

yep

click the "styles" bar to open the added controls
