The textures are perfect. Don't change a thing about them. Perfection, thy name is Buder.
Best movie of all time: Ferris Bueller's Day Off. If you disagree, Cameron will send your car over a cliff.

Simply amazing work. I have to be hard on myself, or I won't have a good reason to improve :)

I love it, I eat my words on the color thing! It looks great together.

I hope i didn't sound presumptuous in my last reply. I was a little worried afterward it sounded a bit... ya know? Sorry 'bout that.

Dustin:  Yes, I realized that I miswrote in my first couple posts about this building.  The actual name was the "Buder Building."  Oops!

ACE:  Thank you!  The beveled corners actually serve a purpose in the game view... I've found that they make shadows on the cornice pieces to give them a bit more depth.

John:  Thanks!  You're probably right... I'll have to make this preview all the time now...  ::)  ACE already correctly answered the question about the back of the building... and his reasoning is exactly why I did it that way.

XioahouDun:  Thank you!

N1:  Thanks!  I'll try an make enough of these to inspire a new region for you then!   :D  I'm just going with the actual name of the building... so the Austrians will just have to understand. ;)  Although now you've got me curious about what it means...

ACE:  Yep... that's why alright.  I always take it as a good sign when someone else can explain why I did something... especially when they're right!   :D

TopCliff:  Thanks!  I'm still going to tone down the highlights at the very top just enough so they don't slap people in the face...  but otherwise I'll leave them alone.

RebaLynn:  Thank you!

Fledgeling:  Thanks!  No problems with the last post at all.  I just realized that I accidently skipped you in my previous responses.  Sorry about that... but it was just an oversight, not a payback. ;)  Actually, I didn't know that about the color yellow until you mentioned it.  Kind of a fun fact that could come in handy sometime.

Pat:  Awww shucks... thank you!

I'm at work right now, but I thought I'd try to catch up on responses while I had the chance.  Maybe this way I won't get as confused and miss people again!  :D  Talk to y'all later...

Well, you could translate "Buder Building" as ... :-X ... brothel.

A kind of dictionary, where you can find the standard German meaning of Viennese expressions:
http://members.aon.at/berri/wienerisch.htm
In this case, the standard German translation is quite understandable for English speakers. ;D

Sorry for that childish notes. ::)

Ah Jon...looking very very good... I keep looking at it to try and find a nit to pick...and nothing....sheesh....congrats on the progress so far...

Is the midrise building group going to be a full sized series?

Oh and to N1-2888  Thank you for the translation and the linkie.....I was really curious.... and the notes arn't childish...one of the beauties of the SC4 community is learning the rest of the world.

Mauricio:  Thank you!  I did a brief test run with the rose on top, but I didn't really like the look.  With a couple more tweaks, I think this will work out pretty well though.

well, i must admit this one is perfect

N1:  Thank you for the explaination!  I can see how that might turn a few heads...   :D  I suppose I could always go with the original name of "Missouri Pacific Building," but I think I prefer the inside joke now!

Duane:  Thanks!  I don't think it will be a full series of its own.  These will all fall under the SHUR umbrella.  I've just been in the mood to do a few of them in a row is all.

Mauricio:  Thank you!

Pat:  Then thank you again!  (Now stop flirting with me... it's getting wierd)  :D

Pat Riot:  Thanks a lot!

I think I've wrapped up most of the exterior touches.  I have a couple adjustments to make now that I had a closer look, but nothing drastic.  I split up the awnings and signs so they don't interfere with the vertical columns.  I need to move the corner sign in a little more so it doesn't stick out quite as much.  I added fire escapes, roof junk, stairwells and an elevator shaft.  I think the stairwells will probably move... I'm not real fond of where they sit right now.  I also need to make them less clean and more ignored looking.  Beyond that, I think it's time to move inside and turn on some lights.  Here are all four sides:

And now I must be off... the boss shows up tomorrow.  Maybe he'll finally tell me where I'm going in a month!  ???  I mean, I like surprises and all... but this is just getting silly.  :D

Nice job with the roof junk and the fire escape! For the stairwells and elevator shaft, you should try using a different wall color as the rose color stands out too much and it is too clean looking. Of course, some grime could change that...

As for surprises, at least your boss won't wait until the very last minute... Like, at the airport. :D Although, you never know...

I think the stairwells may be a bit large.  Try lowering them about .75 meters and adding stairs down to the door; I've seen this setup on several roofs, and it would make them look much more proportional to the building.

Other than that, a bit of grime is all they need.  Loving the fire escape, by the way.  Like how it crawls right over the upper-level detailing.
