Hey all,

I hope someone can lead me to a good program that worked like WinZip but is Free...I used the "Free-Trial" version of WinZip for years, but for some reason this time when I re-installed the "Free-Trail" it now knows my computer used it longer then the Trail allows, so what are my options? - Thanks!

XiahouDun

My personal preference is WinRAR, since it can open both zip and rar files.

You may have meant to search for Houdini. (result of searching for XiahouDun on SC4D)

I use ZipGenius, because it's free and it can open AND compress 20 different kinds of formats, including zip and rar. You can get it from their website, ZipGenius.it.

Shadow Assassin

7Zip is probably the best choice for you - it can open most different file formats, and is free.

Yeah 7Zip is great; unfortunantly it doesn't work on Vista. I use ALZip aswell and recommend it.

Yep, WinRAR is essentially the same as the way you described it. Supposedly the trial should only last 40 days, but you can still extract files at your own leisure for as long as you want. All these other suggestions sound just as good.
