UPDATE TWENTY-SIX
THE NEW KHAYMEH

Yes, a new Khaymeh! I wasn't really happy with the results of the original Khaymeh (namely, it was way too close to the refinery, with the city center somehow on ending up not being very central at all). Also, the building style didn't quite do it for me.

However, I redid the city and I am very pleased with the results so far. The QEC has also decided to further develop the Khaymeh Oil Refinery, almost doubling its production capability.

As for Khaymeh, the mosque you will see is the Al-Iman Mosque, but I did use a different BAT. As of the 5th Year, Khaymeh's population is around 19,000. By the 10th Year, it will be closer to 50,000.

So without further ado, pictures! The titles before the pictures explain them.

Great progress on Khaymeh! Also nice work on the oil Refinery!

Glad to see you back in the game, nedalezz. As always, your photos are top-notch, and the night shots are beautiful. I especially like the refinery at night!

The mosque makes a nice centerpiece for Khaymeh,
and I'm sure the city will grow and prosper as you predicted.

Heres hoping the next update comes through sooner! ;)

Until next time...

Hi Nedalezz,

Man you ARE a perfectionist.  The old Khaymeh was fine.  The new Khaymeh is finer  ;D

I hope Ulrtan Fuels have been able to find a new office in the new city  ;)

The mosque does make a fine centrepiece for the city - great choice.

And of course, Welcome back, you've been missed.

I enjoy this diary very much, and never get tired of looking at your pictures. Your vegetation placement is done tastefully and is believable. I'm hoping you are able to continue with it enough to see a major urban area evolve. Great job!

Wow, I just stumbled upon this gem, and WOW! ;) This is fantastic! Your use of BATs is perfect. A breath of fresh air from the more common North American cities. Just, wow!

Cheers!

Nice update. I really love this MD. Keep up the good work.

Excellent update Nedalezz. The redone version of Khaymeh looks better. The expanded refinery looks cool too. I am wondering what had happened to Fursan, while Khaymeh developed.. :P

REPLIES

To ALL, please forgive my lack of personal replies! I am currently in Dubai on business, and I had a few hours to myself (finally!), so I played a bit of SC and prepared this update. I hope to be back in Ghana in a couple of days time, and hopefully updates will resume at a more frequent pace. Also, I'll be able to personally reply to each and everyone of you (as I should be doing, anyway). Again, apologies for the lack of personal replies!

UPDATE TWENTY-SEVEN
AROUND THE TOWN OF FURSAN

Celebrating 10 years since the inception of the nation of Qumma, the city of Fursan continued to witness its remarkable growth bring further prosperity into the hands of the people. With the Khaymeh Oil Refinery expanded to double its original size, the export of the added amounts of oil brought more riches to the nation than every imagined. As such, more money was poured into the development of Qumma, and with foreign investment recording an all-time high, the country of Qumma could not be in a better place 10 years in.

With the population of Fursan fast approaching 90,000, it has begun taking baby steps towards its ultimate goal of becoming one of the economic, financial, industrial, and entertainment hubs of the region, Africa, and ultimately the world. Development has shown no signs of slowing down, and with the opening of 2 new banks, the economy has continued its strong growth.

The Fursan Oil Port has been handling all bulk cargo needs for the country, but after some delays, the QEC has finally begun work on the Fursan Harbour Port, which will be capable of handling more than 50 times Qumma's current needs. Looking towards the future, Berber Dawa was there for the ground breaking, and stated that the development of the port was one which was taking into account Qumma's potential, not its current state.

Additionally, excavation in the southeast region of Qumma, known for its rocky and hilly features, has shown large deposits of precious stones and metals. Although that was already known year ago, experts were unclear on whether it was substantial amounts or not. Having spent years studying and researching, conclusions have shown the area to be very rich in those precious stones and metals. Diamonds and Gold are reported to be plentiful, but the QEC has not drawn up any plans to begin reaping the benefits of those natural resources.

With that small outlook on the current events happening around Qumma, we now leave you with a few pictures of Fursan, including some of the developments that took place over the past couple of years.

Some very very nice views of the great town of Fursan!!
Like the night shots, too!

Jmouse

Oh boy, you know just what gets my attention, don't you nedalezz!

I always like the overviews because they give me a better sense of the city as a whole. But it's hard to beat those night shots! Absolutely love the way the water turned out in the first one - I imagine it to be a reflection of the moon and stars. And while all the rest are stunning, the Palm Residence is my favorite - maybe because of the beach in the background.

I'm so glad you spent those few spare hours on an update - it certainly was time well spent.

Until next time...
