All I can say to all of you is

"Things are look'n good in the NEIGH . . . BOR . . . HOOD!"

I can see that I've got several years of work laid out for me before I get to cities of your size.  &hlp

currently building up my largest city ever. the entire area from farms to downtown to farms will be equal in size to 3RR, i decided to start in the burbs(a 20km stretch), so far the populations around 485,000(old photo above) and 90% of them are low wealth. my second pic is part of one of my R$$ concept communities.

NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

Giligone

Wow, those are impressive suburbs mightygoose. Weird houses though. I've never seen that style before. Where is it from?

szarkoz

Some boring, American style suburbs from me.

If you can't read my nick, just call me Tom.

szarkoz: Hey, hey, they may be boring and American, but they...wait, what was the third thing you said?   $%Grinno$%  I'm sorry...but I like them!  They sort of remind me of how I build mine, except yours are more realistic because of the fact that they have limited access to the roads.  I bet that helps with traffic, as well, right?  Hmmm...I need to take note...anyways, nice job!  Ahh...were you going to put anything in the middle of that roundabout?

Shadow Assassin:  Those are probably some of the most amazing suburbs I've ever seen.   :shocked2:
jplumbley:  I rather like the road layout you have there.  It's quite interesting.  And of course, as I said on your thread in the NHP Team Room, excellent job on the lots!
ACEFanatic02: I really like the way you worked those SimGoober commercial lots and the parks with the ponds in there.
wouanagaine:  Excellent job--I like how you worked that park in there with the trails.  Something I need to mess around with some more myself.   Looks like your roundabout is quite busy . . .
mightygoose:  Those residential buildings you have in there are really interesting, the way they are oriented and their general geometric characteristics.  Kind of futuristic looking . . . nice job!
szarkoz:  I wouldn't call that boring.  It does, admittedly, remind me of Edward Scissorhands a little bit, though . . .  I'd say the road network is laid out very realistically--a hierarchical system.  Superb.

Here's my attempt at suburbia . . . this is from the city I've been spending most of my time on, Argentum (I've also shown its downtown on the Show us your Downtowns & CBDs thread).  My approach is kind of odd . . . the suburbia is actually quite compartmentalized, as I was trying to preserve the natural resources and make sure the residential was fairly close to shopping.  It still needs a good deal work, and there's actually quite a few Maxis buildings still present, unfortunately.
