RebaLynn:  Thanks!  It was indeed a very nice weekend.

Rushman5:  Thank you!  I like to mix things around somewhat... it keeps me from getting bored!   ;)

Pat:  Thanks!  I hope you had a great Easter as well.

Matt:  Thank you!  I don't think I'm familiar with that movie... although I don't tend to retain stuff like that very well, so who knows?  :D

Duane:  Thank you!  So they are in fact the same chain, huh?  I actually guessed right for a change!  I can't say as I ever liked pea soup either... I love peas, just not all mashed up into soup.

Dustin:  Thanks!

Bat:  Thank you!

Simdad:  Thanks!  I can never seem to find enough variety for smaller and also rural or semi-rural looking stations... so hopefully this will fit in that area.

Barby:  Thank you for posting that!  I always enjoy seeing what other people do with these buildings.  The surroundings in your shot are nothing like what I would have envisioned, but it looks great... and that's what makes seeing other people's cities so interesting.

Sim Shady:  Thank you very much!

Dustin:  Thanks again!  :D

Duane:  I'm glad I could find the zone then... and honored that you and others think so.

I'm back at home now after a nice extended weekend.  I was keeping up with threads while away, but didn't really see much need to post very often.  I did find out a couple things about my upcoming move during the past week, so I guess I'll go into that ever so briefly.  I start training my replacement on April 1st... and I will leave camp for good on April 15th.  At this point, I'll be going to the Detroit area (Southfield for those of you that are on more familiar terms with it) to work with and learn from one of the company's other college accounts.  That will last about two or three weeks... and then I'll move... well, somewhere.  And, no, I still don't know exactly where...  ::)  Since I'll be living in a hotel for anywhere from 2-6 weeks, I decided it was time to finally break down and buy a laptop.  At least I won't completely lose touch with the world that way.  I doubt I'll get too much more BATting done for a while.  I'll be able to do it, but time will probably not be on my side.  I may start an MD during that time... it seems that there are a few (crazy) people who would like to see me do that... just because I can play the game in shorter sittings without getting completely lost.  But we shall see...

That's about all I have for an "update" tonight.  However, there is always...

As always... enjoy, and have a good night!

So this is another thing we have in common? I don't drink coffee, and I don't like pea soup, although I love peas in general. It's getting kinda eerie, really. ;)

Jon, I haven't commented in a while, but I love the Bruder Building. It's my most favorite building that you've produced so far. It's one of those buildings that has that big city feel to it, but it isn't too large so it still kinda has that small town feel to it. And the limestone finished it off perfectly (and I love limestone buildings, as they seem to use it for everything here in Texas from city halls to rest areas).

Rasco's Dime Store looks great too, you can never have too many W2W American-style small town buildings. ;)

living in a hotel for 2-6 weeks sounds fun  :D

Welcome Back Jon....and ummm you'll never guess what I am going to download as soon as I finish this msg ;D.   Thank you my friend.

well, all I've got to say, is it depends on the hotel as to how your time will be spent....back in the days when I did that sort of thing...there were no "suites" for hotels...it was sometimes a joy to find a hotel that didn't charge you for keeping their cockroaches in your room :D.

Would look forward to a md from you........but, I'm not going to tell you that cause I don't want you to get embarassed!

Thanks again my friend
Sometimes I go into my own little world....but it's ok, they know me there.

Andreas:  This really is beginning to get a little strange... suppose we meet in England and discover we're actually twins?!?  :D

John:  Thank you!  I was always afraid of making my own limestone texture in the past... now that I finally have a good base to start from, I would imagne that you'll start seeing a few more of them from time to time.

Pat Riot:  Well that release is out... hence the big billboard.  ;)  Fun, huh?  You seem to have some pretty strange ideas of a good time, then...  :D

Pat:  I had a very good Easter weekend, yes.  Spent a night at my sister's house... with a custom wake up call from my 3 year old nephew which involves his jumping on the bed until I pretend to bounce around and fall out.  I also help with the Easter breakfast at my old church every year, which is a lot like working on vacation... but I enjoy it.

Duane:  I've spent my share of time on the road as well... but I think this would be my longest stretch at one time.  I don't mind the idea so much... but it would be much better if I knew what was happening after the hotel.   ::)  I honestly think an MD from me might be a bit disappointing... I'm nowhere near as detail oriented with city building as I am with individual buildings. ;)

Fantnet:  I'm afraid I don't have your answer, so we'll just have to wait for Barby.  Glad you stopped in, though!

Derry:  Thank you!

Nothing really new to report at this point.  I was playing the game a bit last night and will probably do the same again soon.  Just no major inspiration in the modeling world for me at the moment.  I tinkered a little here and there... but nothing major.  So in the meantime, I thought I'd just keep the release party rolling along...

Enjoy!  I may have more later if I get bored with packing...  :D

Hey, I really love the latest release of yours, except for ONE thing that annoys me (and this probably comes from personal taste); the ROOF!  The rest of the building is spectacular; well aged, but for a nice old building, it should have an old patina textured roof IMO; here, it looks too new.  Is it possible for you to release a version 2 with a patina roof?  That would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
SC4, forevermore!

mightygoose

thats actually a really cool idea dusktrooper. i hadn't really thought about it but the roof does look kinda newish....
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

JBSimio

Pat Riot:  Oooo... I love a good montage!  So pink though... did you get a bit sunburned during spring break?  :D

Pat:  Thank you!

DuskTrooper:  You know... at one point I had every intention of going back to dirty up the roof texture a little more.  Then I got distracted trying to get the other textures right and quite frankly forgot all about it.  Unfortunately, it wasn't off by enough for me to notice again.  I can probably do a second version... but I'll have to see what the new laptop can handle before I give a timeframe for it since everything will have to come from that in about two weeks time.

Mightygoose:  He does make a pretty good point... ;)

Nothing new tonight really.  I've been working on a few things, but I none of them are ready to be revealed at this point.  Tomorrow should bring some pictures though.  In the meantime, thanks to everyone for the kind words you've left on the LEX.  I appreciate it!

Really great work on your buildings, Jon! Nice!

DuskTrooper

Excellent.  I can wait; patience is a virtue. ;)

Bat:  Thank you!

DuskTrooper:  Feel free to remind me if the wait gets too long... I'll be the first to admit that I tend to forget things a lot.  (I can hear my dad laughing as he reads this already)

I still haven't had a brainstorm that sorts out the roof on the rail station I was working on... so I decided to make something a bit simpler for now.  I will definitely go back to the other one at some point, but for now this seemed like a good way to make sure I have the measurements and all that good stuff right anyway.  Sort of a trial run, if you will.  This is a pretty basic station based off of one on Long Island.  Apparently there are a bunch of these little ones there, so I'll probably do a couple of them just for variety in the rural areas.  Here's a look:

I need to fix one or two small things and then add some lights, but I think this is pretty much it unless there seems to be stuff missing.  The building itself would fit on 3x1 tiles.  Add some tracks and you get a 3x2 version.  I'll probably also make a 3x3 with parking in front as well.

Great work, Jon! I love this station, your Smalltown Series needs a few stations like these. Could you do a clapboard variety from a standard midwestern plan as well? (Paging Hogmeister, paging Hogmeister...)

Keep up the great work!  &apls
