News:

The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

Hof was the last depot of the legendary German 4-6-2 Class 01 in Western Germany. It finished service there in 1973. In East Germany the service of the 01 lasted until 1981 / 1982

Between 1971 and 1973 the whole world (well, at least the railway-loving part of it) went there to see the last two cylinder 01 (001 since 1968) working up their way over the legendary "Schiefe Ebene", a long ramp between Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg (one of Germany's most famous steam engine museum is located there) and Marktschorgast.

Later the publicity went to Rheine and Emden, where the three cylinder 01.10 (012 since 1968) continued their service until they finished eventually in 1975 as the last fast train steam engines in Western Europe ...

So much about German / European railway history, sebes  ;)
