Congratulations on the new laptop, my friend! I hope all the transferring works out for you. And the stations look splendid, too!

I think you need something else next to that sign.  There just isn't enough visual interest for it being a front facade wall.  Perhaps a window on either side, placed opposite of the ones in back?

Other than that, excellent work.  Once more, you fill a needed niche.

Pat:  Thanks!  I did manage to almost finish with the laptop... I'll just need to update my works in progress before I pack up the other one for good.

Matt:  Thank you!  I thought about putting windows in the front, but one of them would have a vent pipe going right through it and simply having one just looks bad.  So, I figured "boring" is better than "bad" and just left well enough alone.

Pat Riot:  I don't know why I started that... I can't stand the word "cute" either.  Don't worry... I'm really not attracted to the station, we're just friends!   :D  Glad you like it!

Kimcar:  Thank you!

Bat:  I'm glad you like it... although I made the fire station over a year ago.  ;)

Duane:  Thanks!

Dustin:  Thank you!  My transfer cable wasn't cooperating, so the process took much longer than it should have, but it got done eventually.

ACE:  Thanks!  Perhaps that is a side facade... who knows?  :D

Both of these stations have been exported.  BarbyW was kind enough to mod them for me and I think Ripplejet is taking a second look at them.  As soon as he is finished, I'll get them back and finish the lots.  They might be ready sometime next week.  In the meantime... things are getting a bit hectic around here, so the updates may be a bit more sporadic for a while.  I have some things I'm working with and I'll be around when I can be... but don't worry too much if I'm not.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of time once the house is in storage and I'm in a hotel.  ::)

I feel so guilty now. I missed your greatest work being made!!! AAAAAAAAAAGH, the guilt, the guilt! Anyways, I really like the new buildings you're making, remind me a lot of Lexington and Concord. At the same time, I feel so honored that one of my photos inspired you for your best building to date! Keep up the good work dude.

So...I heard you had fun adding some industrial lots of a certain BAT genius to your pluggins.  Those load times for the game starting to get funkay long?  :P

Hope your schedule clears up soon because i have an addiction, to your awesome bats!  I think i need to go to rehab...for corny jokes :D

JBSimio

Pat:  Well... you asked for it!  :D Covington is here...

TopCliff:  I was wondering where you've been!  Don't feel guilty... I'm glad you like it.  Thank you again for the original link.  I still have plans to use at least on more of them, so you can redeem yourself then.  ;)

SimShady:  I did indeed go on a bit of a spree yesterday... Jestarr and Spa were the major players in that little party, along with others here and there.  Load times are still fine... my plugins went from 1.02GB to 1.11GB after repacking everything.  No sweat here!  ;)  I'm sure they have meetings available if you're ready to face your problems...  :D

Yeah... I finally bit the bullet and started an MD.  Check it out if you're interested.  I'll probably spend a lot more time playing the game while on the road as opposed to BATting for a while.  I'm not taking a complete break or anything, but I'm realizing that keeping all the BAT things organized will be pretty difficult unless I want to drag my filing cabinet along with me to the hotel.  ::)  All it really means though is that this side of things will probably be restricted to smaller and simpler projects for a bit.  But that may be a good thing because I can finish them faster!  :D

those buildings look like some rail stations on RL2, victorian style if i'm not wrong, but whatever, they look awesome!!! you know the way

TopCliff

Yeah, I was a little preoccupied with another site for a while. Now, back to the heart of the matter, I know of somoe great buildings that only your pure awesomeness could handle making. Does that make sense? I hope so, because you're about to get a very long PM. ;D

Smaller and quicker BAT's; lets see.....  that should mean more small town stuff. Yippee!!!!!

Have fun with your move. I imagine living in a hotel for the next six weeks will get kind of tedious but you will keep occupied with your new laptop I'm sure. Take care.
Go Sens!!

Sim Shady

You SELFISH SELFISH man!  How can you do this to us?? Play the game more than make stuff for us?!? I am disapointed in you.

:P Have a good time at the hotel!

PS: Have you thought about making a cj b/c i think you would be a god at it

Pat

Sim Shady Covington is here... <---- that is Jon's MD and I do agree he is so far very much a god at MD'ing........

Shoot, you've already exported it. I was going to say the longer station could have used a couple of seats between the stairs onto the platform and where the building starts (on the platform, of course). Too late, oh well. I was also going to say that a longer version of the long station with some uncovered platform and a couple of props for extra platforms might be handy (to make a couple of varieties of 2-platform stations with).

Actually, on that note, a small, nondescript station wouldn't be a bad idea IMHO.

(can you tell I'm obsessed with trains and general train infrastructure yet?  :D).

Regardless, you've done an excellent job with these and they'll probably find their way into some of my rural towns.

Sim Shady

oh i didnt realize you had a cj in the works  ;) If i had posted my post a few days sooner i would have seemed prophetic in my prediction that JB's ownage would extend to cjing, b/c it does

Pat:  Thank you for your kind words in both threads!  I think I've got things sorted out enough now to finally start doing some stuff again.

Gn_elugim:  Thanks!  Both of the stations are from some pictures taken on Long Island in New York if I'm not mistaken.  I'm glad you like them.

TopCliff:  Well, it's good to see you back either way.  Thank you!  I saw your PM, but that was a while ago... so now I have to go check it again to remember what was there...  ::)   :D

Simdad:  It probably will translate into a few more Smalltown things.  You won't know it from this post... but there are sure to be some on the way.

Sim Shady:  I know... I'm a jerk sometimes!  I can't help it...  :D  And thank you for your second post as well!

Cammo:  Thanks!  I can easily make some extra platform props, yes.  And given the size of the model, it really wouldn't be too much to export the station again after adding some benches.  I just have to check to be sure I transferred that file onto the laptop... otherwise it really will be too late.

So... I haven't updated this in a while.  The reasons are probably pretty obvious, so I won't bother going into everything.  Suffice it to say that I'm now living at the Holiday Inn and running across an expressway to get to work.  (OK... not literally... I use the overpass, but it sounded funnier the other way)  I've done a fair bit of catering this past week, but today I had a chance to start something new!   %BUd%

This will be another SHUR building... 11 stories on a 3x3 lot I think.  It's based off the Rookery Building in Chicago.  I don't have any links handy at the moment... but Flickr has some really good pictures and the interior lobby is also incredible.  (I highly recommend doing a search... I promise it will be worth it)  Anyway... here is the humble beginnings:

This is floors 3-10 except in the center where the 11th floor is already in place.  There are a lot of details to be added, but the dimensions are just about what I was hoping for.  There isn't a single texture on this yet, but it's "color coded" to show the different pieces.  This may be a bit of a challenge simply because there really isn't any accent color for the building... so we'll see how well the details stand up when I get that far.  That's about it for now...

Looks great, I like the detailing on the windows and the curved mid-section. Another great SHUR-creation!
