Yes Jess, that looks perfect.  I agree with Kevin as well.  Can you add a large garage door on the both ends or are we asking for too much now?  hehehe
And I owe you a thank you for something else too.  Thank you.

Did you know that Oppie made a Train roundhouse once?
You can find it on Simcitycentral.net in the Simcity4 user creativity section, Downloads, Bat files.
It's a bit small, but as inspiration it could be nice.

Ok, so it's been a while. :P  I've a few things finished and some others in various stages of being worked on.  Here's a few pics.  The first is sterling consolidated Mfg - now in testing.  Second is Garibaldi's Macaroni Factory, also in testing - a small mom & pop operation that won't seem out of place near low res/comm.  Next is the County Livestock Auction Services.  This will be a reward, compliments of BarbyW.  Thanks Barby!  Finally, a couple pics of one in progress; this will be a bonding warehouse for rice, suitable for use on canals, although it's not necessary.  The real building is somewhere in China.  So, that's all for now.  Cheers!

Sim Shady

nice job, everything is looking great!  ;D

CasperVg

Indeed, that looks very nice! Will a non-canal be released aswell? Or is the canal just running aside incidentially?
Either way, nice work  ;D

Sim Shady:  Thanks, I'm glad you like them.

caspervg:  Canals will be optional, as everyone uses different ones anyway.

I was thinking about livestock, while putting the package together for the auction service.  The term applies to many different animals; cattle, pigs, sheep. etc., so I made a pig shed type thing this afternoon.  It's nowhere near completion yet.  The textures need massaging and the model still needs work, also.  Here's an in-game test pic of how it looks presently.  Cheers!

Jes that is looking real good there and I cant wait to get some pigs into my cities!!!

Don't forget the SC4D Podcast is back and live on Saturdays @ 12 noon CST!! -- The Podcast soon to Return Here Linkie

FrankU

Yeah great!
In our rural areas we all have a lack of housing for our livestock.
Also we don't have meadows with cows or sheep as growables. Of course, cows can be plopped.....

jestarr

Hmmmm....sheep, huh.  Something like this, perhaps? ;D

vester

Looking good.

Hoping for some cows as well.

Andreas

And pigs. :) And monkeys. *g*

Hmm, Ennedi had started a discussion some time ago about making ploppable sheep, but at the time we didn't have a good model for it.  Your model on the other hand would work well for that.  It would be great to have several different types of livestock(I second Vester's wish for some cow's-some that aren't dairy cows) that could be plopped into people's pastures and meadows.

Interested to know what you think,
Chris

Yes! Yes! Monkeys!
Great looking buildings there Jes, looks like I need to play around a bit tonight. Oh, and I really think Andreas is on to something with the monkey thing.

Well, indeed, that sort of ploppable cows.
I feel quite frustrated with the farms. All sorts of crops, but when I look around my city i mostly see pastures (meadows?) with cows or sheep.
The only thing I can do at the moment is to plop all my pastures, with some coweffect-filled lots in between. So much work!
Isn't it possible to make some growable cow-farms?

Since everyone seems to want more/different cows, I've started making a few.  Here's a pic of the brown & white version.  They'll be rendered at various angles and with different textures.  Cheers!

Edit:  It should be possible to make a farm fields with cows, sheep, pigs, etc. on them, too.

jestarr

Sterling Consolidated has been uploaded to the LEX.  Cheers!

Chrisadams3997

Oh my, I missed your last post(not that I'm not excited about Sterling Consolidated too, I'll be downloading that next time I get on the LEX.)  That's very cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing some more shots of them.  Furthermore, if I can offer any help with making them ploppable, I'd be quite happy to.

I presume your thinking of setting them up like the irrigation sprinklers on some field lots as a random prop by the way?

Chris

jestarr

Yes, I'm going to try for the random prop bit. I'm not the best at modding, so I'll probably need help. :P  I'll also put all the farm animals in families, so there'll be some randomness there also.  Currently there are 4 different cows, 2 different pigs and, of course, sheep.  They're all rendered as straight, 45Diag, 22.5Diag, and 11.25Diag, (both left and right).  The cows have a regular stance and a head down, grazing, version.  Oh, and there's also a 14x14 prop, of a flock of sheep. ;D  Cheers!
