Oh my god -M-, that is looking fabulous. really stunning!
GIVE IT TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ö haha =P

rooker1

I have to agree with CarmineHilton, that is one great map.  And the trees that you have added to very nice.  Not too much or too little.  Now I would like to see some cities by you.
And it's nice to see you around again.
Robin
Call me Robin, please.

Thank you, thank you! You are both too kind! :P

The feat was in fact only possible with CP's Meadowshire Terrain Mod, Dogfight's Marshy Green Water Mod, Dark Limestone (?) Rock Mod and of course, the brilliant CP tree controllers and all the implicated props by all you great people here!  $%Grinno$%

For the "bigger picture", as they say, click here! -> Click! (925kB)

And of course! it would not be at all possible without the amazing map by the NHP (specifically Beskhu3epnm) available here -> NHP Pacific Rim National Park (by Beskhu3epnm)

It's good to see you too Robin! I hope you are well! :)

My AT LAST completed region (i.e. tree-ified) that I hope to use in a MD in the distant future! :P

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. &apls

FrankU

All three maps are really stunning!
How on Earth do you make these maps playable? I am playing on 5x5 large maps map, with only three cities with some real development and the game is really slowing down already.
What is going to happen when I develop 10 or all 25 cities? I worry already.
Specs:
1 Gig RAM
3500+ AMD processor
256Mb Graphics card
Not too large, but not slow either, I thought....

M4346

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like it!  ()stsfd()

And also, Pat, it's good to see you again as well! And don't worry, I'm still alive and kicking! ;) Don't get too excited about that prospective MD just yet though. ;)

Specifically to FrankU... I am embarrassed to admit that I play on an even slower / older laptop computer and a 7x7 large city tiles map. I guess the secret ingredients are passion, patience and persistence! :P

FrankU, until very recently I played on an AMD machine with worse specs than that and the game ran okay with 3.5 GB of plugins. Fully developed large cities took awhile to render when I would quickly move around the map, other than that, I didn't notice any problems.

Cheers,
Kevin

FrankU

Thanks Big Slark.
Surely one of the issues here is: when do you self think there is a problem rising?
I read in another thread that someone had his computer taking an hour to start the game. I definitely would have given up after 15 minutes and would have thought my machine broke down.
So how large is the problem?
In my case, I feel some slowdown, but the game works OK.
This week I finally Datpacked my plugins and this speeded up more than I thought. And yes, I know I should have done that earlier.

Q-Tips

First of all : Great region shots all of you. Its very inspiring to look at them.
I see its mentioned about running a big region. Is this a problem? I am running a big one now, and i dont see any differences compared to a small one. However, starting a big city takes of course longer time than a small one. Am i right or wrong?

Some great region shots here!  Below is my latest effort (undeveloped)  The area to the north-west of the mountains is based loosely on the volcanic Auckland area of New Zealand, and the region (developed) will be called New Gelderland (spot the link!).   This is hopefully going to be my most completed region.  I usually give up for some reason.  I hope to keep it in check by showing it in a CJ/MD sometime soon!

Hope you like!

bighead99: that's just like looking at Google Earth, something i'm not a stranger to.  I love the river parklands!  Genius.

M4346: That's what I was aiming for!  Still some work to be done it seems! Stunning.

That is one really large development here!
Nice balanced look: central area, suburbs, some rural areas, developemnts around the edges of the water. Good! &apls &apls
