How about the
Remove From Menu Mod by  favrekev04 linkie

It gives you the option to remove Police, Firestations, Health , Schools, Museums, Landmarks, Rewards, Parks, and transportation buildings etc
You have the option to pick what files to keep and to remove (it just erases them from the ingame menu).

This file will help you out if you have a lot of custom lots and are running out of space in the menu.

Hope that is of some help to you.

Try this (link) thread for the SNM problem.  About halfway down the page, in a post from Daeley.

You won't be able to remove individual ones in game as you'd like, but, if you've used the reader before(and if you haven't I can help you, just PM me), you can VERY easily change which Maxis lots in each category is removed.  In the screen shot below, I've opened the 'police.dat' included with the 'Remove from Menu' mod:

The green box on the left shows that there are six exemplars in this dat.  Each of these represents a different Maxis police building.  The green box on the right shows the exemplar name, or, in other words, just which of those buildings it represent.  Any of them that appear in this file will be removed(which is all of them at present.)  Therefore, any you want to keep, all you have to do is delete it's exemplar from this Dat to allow it to appear in game.

What's that, how do I remove an exemplar? Left click one you want to keep in game(and therefore remove from this dat), then right click on it and go to remove file:

And of course, make sure you hit the save button when you're done, or none of this would accomplish a whole lot, right ;).

Hope that helps, if you have any questions, well, ask :)
