Props and textures missing or messed-up after official and BAT updates

I'm having a lot of problems with the official and Bat updates, at least I think they are the problem. The problem itself is almost all props are missing and most of the ground textures are messed up on almost all of my lots.

I think it might be the updates, because the first time I had the problem was sometime after I installed them the first time. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it was fixed (mostly)
until just now when I remembered I hadn't installed them yet and did so. Now I'm having the problem all over again.

I said mostly because I also have a problem with some props going missing, mostly the ones for the residential areas, when I install the CAM plugin.

If anyone could please help me with these problems I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

If it is possible, would you mind posting a picture to illustrate the problem? There could be a number of potential causes, and being able to see the problem may help to figure it out faster.

I'd like to, but I don't have anywhere to host the photo, but the symptoms are much like the prop pox I believe, but these are brand new citys not even 1000 pop, and a brand new region. I was also adding my plugins back into my folder one at a time and checking for problems. When I did get one with the CAM, I removed it, and the problem was gone. so my game is almost a blank slate and my 2 cities are brand new, and starting a new one has the same problem. Starting a new region doesn't help either.

The res houses tend to have the house the fence no driveway, and sometimes the veicle, clothesline, or pool but that's all.

The com tend to have all the wrong textures, such as grass and tiles, and some times trees I'm sure shouldn't be there.

It's harder to tell with ind, but I think it's missing props too.

Check your graphics settings in the game. The official updates reset them to "Low".

All the graphics settings where set to med except for textures which is at high.

Well, Maxis didn't put a lot of detail in their residential lots. I see there is a fence, a clothesline, and a random prop in the back yard. Could be a pool, a trampoline, deck. My recollection is that Maxis didn't go to extremems with lot props - while - on the other hand - a lot of custom content is profuse with it. It would be helpful to have specific information. Query the lot. Is it a Maxis or a lot done by someone else? One or two specific examples would be helpful to us ... since you can't post a picture.

"Sometimes a vehicle" Maxis made a lot of timed props. The vehicle in a residential lot will be there during evening hours but will not be there during day time hours. Kind of simulates someone being at work. What was the time of day when you looked?

No Drive way - now that is a puzzler! I think that most Maxis homes have driveways of some sort. Hmmmm... Do you ever see a vehicle sitting on grass? And if so - is it a Maxis lot or some custom content. In that case, you may want to query the lot and report to us what it is.

You mention the CAM. I was one of the beta testers. Testing beta 5 and upwards. I had it in, moved it out, upgraded to the next version, and use it today. Never experienced the problem you've described. And can safely say that the CAM does not change base textures or have anything to do with props and that has me looking for different solution.

Out of curiosity. What is your computer set up? I play the game with an Alienware computer, 2.6ghz Pentium IV, and an ATI video card. But my laptop (1.8ghz processor) goes "cough" "cough" when playing the game.

The vehicle still time pops just there is no driveway under it, and the missing props tend to be everything like the plants and stuff, I think the textures may be messed up too but it's hard to tell because the textures being used are grass. I think the house may be messed up in some way too, because they all seem to be the same 3 houses, there seems to be no variety but it's hard to be sure.

I haven't gotten around to laying most ploppable items down, but I do now the mayor house is bare except for the small surrounding hedge.

At the moment it is all maxis content, the small amount of custom I have installed at the moment seems ok, but I'm not as familiar with it so I might not be able to tell if something is missing or wrong.

Also the difference between the lots with the problems and the ones without is like night and day. It's so bad I can't stomach playing, everything looks so wrong and bad. The problem is also completely widespread once it happens, every single lot is effected.

As for my computer set up, I have a  HP Pavilion, 2.19 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM, ADM Athalon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, ATI RADEON X550

Ok I just uninstalled the game again, and now it has no plugins. The game had no problems once again, so I ran the UPDATE_SKU1_TO_P1_B638 I got off of the official site and the problem came right back, so I can say for certain it is being caused by the official update.

Could be that your download was compromised. Clear your cache, and then try getting the files from the main page here.

How would I go about clearing my cache, I haven't done that before, and would I need to reinstall again?
