The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

BAT doesn't install

The BAT won't install "sc doesn't seem to be installed"  ()what() What game am i plaing it looks like SC4 ()what() it IS CS4 HELP

Same thing happened to me recently. I solved it by deleting the BAT install file I had just tried; then I rebooted the computer; downloaded the BAT install file a second time; ran it, and then it worked. I don't know why, but starting fresh seemed to take care of it.

Do you possibly have SC4 installed in a non-standard place?

well ah yes, is that a problem?

Maybe.  The installer may be looking for the SC4 folder in your C:\Program Files\Maxis\Simcity 4 directory.  If it's not installed there, it may not be able to find it.

Do you know a sollution to this other then reinstalling the game?

No, actually, I don't.  I just checked and the installer doesn't ask where your game's installed, it apparently assumes it's on the C drive. &mmm

hmm, ok thanks for looking in to it, maybe i'll have to try and reinstall the game to the c drive, i just hope that i don't lose any data on the way

I have SC4 and GMAX/BAT both installed to my D: Drive and they work just fine.

I have both gMax and SC4 installed on a non-default path, but both at the same drive. So gMax and SC4 must be at the same drive, I pursue...
