The blue one looks best by far.  Although I will agree with Badsim on Gaston's comment.

Hm, I must say that I like blue one more than other two, but green one looks good also. &apls

Awesome work Jeronij... Now I see why you tell me you cant do everything... LOL

I like the green and blue textures personally, the brown one isnt the best IMO.

Actually, i like the original canals, the first picture...it had a very Hanging Gardens of Babylon feel.  I think you should release all three canals though, as i could find uses for each (i like the brown one, i would use that in my ruined area of the city)

el agua azul es muy bonito! lol. felt like putting some of my spanish 1 skills to the test.

i like the blue one. i think it would be cool to have two different variations, one with a low water level like the originals and one with a high water level like the new ones you've shown us. great work as always jeronij!

OK, I think the blue will be the first colour to use. For the moment, I am still trying to make a definitive water texture, and looking for a way to let the player see some transparency across the water. Trying to make it more realistic at the end  ;)

Some work in progress..

Instead 1x3 lot pieces, I will cut it into 1x1 pieces, like the other existing canals. Btw, connection with other canal sets is under study at the moment  ;) ,

After some precious BSC feedback, the water texture went into this....

QuoteOk, I have to admit that I learnt quite a lot today about the materials in the GMAX. I found sound nice tutorials via Google, and after some hours I went to this.

Unfortunately, the game point of view does not allow to see most of the details, and the clouds look repetitive, it does not matter what I do. I have even created a custom seamless texture for them, but they look repetitive anyway.

Here is the thing with advanced transparency (  ::) ) and clouds reflections, from the SC4 points of view.

And now, for your astonishment, how the thing looks like in the GMAX.

Now the same only with transparency.

So, I think the water is quite realistic now, but the BAT render will loose all that detail. I am sure the same will happen to simfox.

Also the more detail we add ( clouds), the more repetitive the water looks like.

Your feedback please ....  ;)

In the SC view, I like the canals with the clouds reflecting in the water, but in love the way the light is reflecting in the water on the last picture.

Thanks to all for the nice comments

Unfortunatly all this nice water detail is lost in the final game render.... &mmm

Anyway some progress...

QuoteOK, I have changed the fence's concrete to a darker one. I hope this is better.

I rendered the"clouds" version.It looks like this.

I dont like it. The clouds reflection looks like anything but clouds.

I rendered the "no clouds" version. I look like this.

Neither I like it. Too dark.

I made the material a bit lighter, and I think this can be the final water texture for this set.

I have started to make some additional pieces.

I hope you like the final decision  ;D
