Hey

im new to this forum and im kind of a noob in this.

but i love the game.

well the problem is i cant bet my city to grow. and there is no kids in school. and when i look at the age in my town, there is like 80% is 60-70 and 15% is older, and the rest 5 % is younger then 60.

so there is no kids in schools, because there is no kids in town i guess. but i got all at green and stuff like that.
living age is almost at 100 years. but still my town only got 5000 people.

question is .

how to get younger people to my town.

how to get it to grow?

i stop at 5000 now.  it is a small map but still.....

any tips for a noob?

This has always been the way the game works (an in real life too!!).. neighborhoods get old with few "workers" .. the only way to correct this is with an ongoing program of "urban renewal".. either that or make health care worse so they die sooner.. or just get used to having a smaller percentage of workers.. :)  It will reach a steady state at some point determined by your city's other parameters, but that may not be at a point where you're satisfied. Of course you can take the radical approach and just "wipe out" the residential neighborhood.. this issue is covered pretty well in a series of "experiments" over at Simtropolis  .. and perhaps it is covered in their "Ominibus" forum
I don't have a link .. sorry .. but search works pretty well

To bring in new people, you need to zone new Residential or upzone existing Residential areas from R-1 to R-2 and from R-2 to R-3.  You also need to make sure that people can get to work and are not suffocating in a city without parks and greenery.

Or, get angry and let disasters ravage your city while cutting fire protection to zero.  Clean up and build according to demand;  quite often you will end up with a stronger city than before.
