A road tunneling through a dangerous mountain pass:

A humble farming town:

The region's largest city's geothermal power source (no longer alone - recently I added a solar power station)

A row of wind turbines along the top of a ridge:

Roads snaking through the mountains:
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Heres a rural area of mine that was out of the ordinary. Its a Maxis barn on the left, by itself, but a giant fenced cow lot. The dirt trail there is part of that property, fenced in, so its okay for the cows to be on it, until a truck pulls up to the barn. And yes, that is a single lane avenue you are looking at. I make no explanation here. Believe it or not though, the farm on the right, I had to plop tile by tile, because after too much education after 150, farms don't want to grow in that city anymore. At least stuff can get randomized better than stuff growing.

FrankU

Educated farmers? Noooo! Indeed they don't exist! *cough*

Yes I also tend to plop farms more and more, because I like to fill my citytiles with cities and towns, but I want them to be surrounded by farmland. And I don't like to see all these abandoned farms and fields.
Would it be an idea for some CAM edition to enable stage 3 and higher farms by higher education levels? Farmers these days are definitely quite educated.

Here are three screen grabs from a city that I am working on at the moment. The city is called StokeWorthy Park.

Aerial View

One of the small villages along the route 99. I grew up in a place similar to this scene. Couple of small industries, a singe engine fire house. I made the SFBT signal house (lower left) into a rural rail station. It is running at 30% capacity.  Many of the towns folk work at the Stage 4 CSX Pig farm (upper left).

There are many crossroads in my cities. The county folk work at nearby farms or at the local small shop.

Great landscape Jim  I love the scattered farming communities with the woods between them, it looks very realistic :)
