some progress on the Boleyn Ground (upton park) stadium,, the west stand:


it is still on the early stage as you can see.
Paroch, can you get me some picture from different angles outside of the stadium? especially the east facade, i just can't find any pictures of it from the net....thanks.

David - that is truly amazing.  I have to say that you have done an amazingly good re-creation, I can even see the bit where the entrance door I go in by would be    You say it is early stages - but I have to say that it looks 80-90% complete to me.

My next visit to Upton Park is Saturday 20th September.  I will make sure that I take my camera with me and get plenty of pictures of the East Stand.   I was there on Saturday for a 4-1 victory but was not sure which pictures you would need.

I will try and find some pictures on line in the meantime.  If you need anything else from me, just say.

The Live Map picture must be over a year old because there is now a HUGE advertisement on the roof of the East Stand see here.  I'll leave it to you to decide whether to include this - I guess it may look a bit artificial in game.

This has been the bat I have been waiting for on SC4 for sooooo long.  I love what you are doing with my beloved Boleyn Ground.

One thing you may want to consider for added realism........

The gap between the edge of the pitch and the East Stand is much bigger than the gap between the pitch and the West Stand.  The grass goes all the way but the pitch is not in the centre.  The reason for this is that when they built the new West Stand they moved the pitch about 5-10 metres westwards.  The plan was to demolish the old East Stand and completed the four sides of the ground with modern stands that totally enclosed the pitch.  The club ran out of money and that part of the project has never developed.  I guess your pitch position looks nicer and makes more sense.  So the choice is yours.  Sensible position where you have it now, or RL position by making th pitch off-centre and move towards the West Stand.  Minor point and I respect your decision.


This is looking better than I could have imagined David - I am VERY impressed.

I've considered trying to make Upton Park a number of times, but have always backed away from it as being a project that's too big for me.  It's really great to see that the stadium is going to make it into the game and I have to say you've made a fantastic job of it.

David, this is a very fine stadium creation of yours and though I rather consider me a gooner (ok it's not really being a fan of Arsenal, but actually of their playing style, which often is just awesome - recently watched the match against Newcastle. Heck, that was great...) I guess this could find a way into one of my cities as well

I really like that football stadium. I'm not playing any big cities at the moment, but I downloaded it anyway. I will have to find soemwhere to squeez it in.
