I freaked out the first time  /wrrd%&. This is actually the second time this happened to me (the first one was two cities below the blank lot), but when I realized that my city was still in tact. I was not all that freaked out this time.

This has happened to me many times before. I call it the "New City"-Bug. It occurs when you save the city and you do something else then SC4.

Kamusta Anthony :)

Space between spaces. See what I mean. Aliens are responsible for this lol.

I guess that goes the same with mrtnrln.

You know there is a scientific explanation for that. The magnet at the back of the train engine creates a strong magnetic field attracting the magnet on the car side. As to why the car is not connected to the train, another set of magnets this time repel each other with the same magnitude and it would seem that the train engine is pulling the cars without the contact we usually see. Thus, the system is in equilibrium state and the cars neither accelerates to stick nor decelerates to get left behind.

It's either that or it's God pulling strings trying to mess with us for the heck of it :-\. I'm not an atheist by the way :D.

So it's either aliens, giant magnets or God  :-\

Can anyone explain this strange shop front

Take a close look at the white shop at bottom right end of this commercial row.  Notice anything strange?  Compare with the shop at the lefthand end.

Here is a close up.  It is so High class that the shop front seems to have gone up a few floors

Why?  I know the shop is on a hill but this is ridiculous, I have not noticed any other instances of the same building with this problem the rest of them seem to be 'normal'.  Very odd!

Look at the one second from the left: Identical. It's not a problem because you can tell that on the left side there is a door - the windows aren't floor-to-ceiling.
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Hi Nerdly
I think you need to look at the pictures again.  The shop second from the left is not identical, it is the same building yes, but only without the front detail.  Unlike the shop on the right hand end, if you look at the top floor you can see the shop doorway and windows that should be at street level.  These doorway and window details are in the proper place on the shop at the extreme left hand end.

I've looked very closely and I can see no difference whatsoever between the two shops except that the one on the right has billboards at the top and the one 2nd from the left has street-level shops on one side.

I don't really think the windows are supposed to be at street level. It seems to me that there is a short wall between the windows and the ground such as might be used as a shelf to display merchandise for sale to passerby in an attempt to entice them to buy whatever it is that the store sells.

Hi Nerdly,
I am sorry but I don't agree with your analysis of the differences, but I have the benefit of being able to see the other shops much closer up in game so I will get a better, closer photo of the two shops on the left hand end and you will then be able to see what I mean.  I will be back shortly.

Hi again Nerdly
This first image is of the two shops on the left hand end.  The one on the left has all its coloured bits in the right place windows and door at street level, billboard at roof level.....

Then you look at the shop at the right hand end and it has the same coloured bits (I have circled them to make it clearer which bits I mean) but they are at roof level where the billboard is on the other shop.

Now do you see what I mean, its not correct, is it?

nerdly_dood

??? Now I see what you mean... I thought that was a billboard.   Very strange! That does definitely qualify as a Game Oddity...

Do you have any idea what could have caused it?

HI sapphire that is a strange oddity you got there and well to explain it hmmmm.... Some can be explained and some can't and I hate to say it but this be one of them that can't be explained to easliy...

It can be a billboard. Must be an ad of some house repair company. If you think of it that way, it would appear as if there is nothing wrong with the building. That's how I do it  ;).
