Extraordinary shots Ejc!
A superb railway network there my friend, I like it hiw all the railways go into the train station :)
The rotation of each picture makes it even more effective! and the not-to-much photoshopping on each picture makes it even more effective!!
Eagerly look forwards to seeing more of your pleasant work.

Alex

HAMMBRUCK Bahnhofviertel

Thank you for all the astonishing compliments..  :o It's good to see people like my building style that I've developed throughtout the years. Today I want to take you all into the night, and the more "darker" areas of Hammbruck; the neighbourhood jammed between the port and the station.
It's an old neighbourhood mixed up with old factories, some highrises and appartment-blocks; not the nicest part of town.. Let's say; baddest part of town! Don't wanna walk here at night, so I'm gonna take you into my helicopter and see the neighbourhood from up above  ;)

The main station; "Hammbruck HBF" by night. Only the night-train to Frankfurt is stationed; not many activity during the night..

The backside of the shopping center, the tunnel beneath the rail-tracks almost finished; even the lighting is allready working

The main square in the neighbourhood; "Kökerei Platz".. Not the nicest in the city, not even trees or a bank!

A SNCF freight-train heading off to France with a long cargo train behind it

Heading deeper into the port-area following the rail-bank on it's way to the mayor rail-bridge across the river, here passing by the steelmill that is settled in the port area

Here's where we continue the following update and that will contain the port of "Hammbruck"..

Keep me followed!!

Looks really nice for the "worst part of your city"!!
These new night shots are looking fantastic.
Looking forward to more... ;)

HAMMBRUCK Hafen

Today I'm gonna take you into the docks of "Hammbruck". With 40 million tons of cargo coming in and leaving the port each year it's one of the busiest ports of the country. Mayor steel-mills and refineries can be found here.. The innerport is different from the newer build port far outside the city. This old docks are been build 19th century and are really jammed into the old center, not many space around here; every single tile is in use!

Large factory with ship unloading..

Coal stacks are unloaded from ships, and loaded onto trains that carry it into the land

The oldest power plant of the city, runs on coals and pollutes like hell

Ore trains lining up to get filled near the steelmill

The total steelmill with in back of it the neighbourhood connecting to the center & central station

The river and mayor bridge connecting the other shore where the small village of "Ketteln" is

The outer facilities of the Mobil refinery

Oil coming in by tankers and pumped into tanks on the land

The seperating-areas of the refinery, raw materials are been handled here

Also liquid gas is coming onto shore here and is being processed in the refinery

Zoomed out shots on the oil-tanks; city surrounding the refinery....

Large smoke stack in the center of the facility.. getting noxious around here

The final shot of the core of the facility; always love the nightlighting of refineries around the world!!

Next update we'll gonna take a sneak-peak in the French part of town, and after that we will return to the inner-port by daylight

I remember when the first few updates where on ST, after that I kind of got fed up of SC, so I havn't been looking. I've just looked through the entire thing now and its amazing ejc, especially the rural parts, I always find them harder to do. I have spent alot of time in Austria and Germany and it looks exactly like I remember.

You have even inspired me to start work on my own european region. I have one question though, where are the red germans trains from, I have looked all over the place for them and can't seem to find them.

bat

Again beautiful night shots there of that excellent looking harbor!
Really fantastic work there on it!

Looking forward to the next wonderful update... ;)

HAMMBOURG Introduction

The French side of town isn't that large as the German.. But, it's an international hub of infrastructure; two main rail-lines to Switzerland (/Italy) and towards Germany (/Austria) join here. Result; a large rail-complex in front of the French main-station; "Hammbourg SNCF" Also it is a mixture of building styles with roman influences, Paris influences and offcourse German influences because it's just so close from here.

Again; enough chit-chat -> let the screenshots do the talking!

We cross the small river that passes by the city center and we'll see the park in front of the "Dome Chatbriand"

Just south of the previous scene we see the main avenue that carries traffic into the center and vice-versa

Appartment blocks were build in the years 1970-1985 in this area, close to the railtracks

Gotta be a tight sleeper to ignore those nighttrains passing by towards the mainstation

Overview of the neighbourhood where mainly lower class families live..

1st part of the French part of town; still lots to follow because we haven't seen a bit yet!

That first part is very good, ejc!
Fantastic work on that French part of your city!

Looking forward to the second part...

hey ejc, looking great as always, but there are some missing base textures (i guess thats what they are) on some of your tracks and that carpark in the last picture, other than that, its fantastic. especially that dome building

I have missed far too much!  Your train stations look amazing.  They seem very complex at first glance, but the longer I looked the more it all made perfect sense.  I also really like how the ports came together.  I don't even want to imagine how long that may have taken!  The most recent update looks great.  I'm still trying to take it all in, so I don't have anything more specific than that to add.

Looking forward to Part II...

I'm always impressed with your industrial areas ejc.  You have a knack of making industry look beautiful.

And the ports and waterways are looking real good too.  Recreations is always a great place to visit.

ejc

I'm loving it..

..McDonalds!! With some slow moving traffic towards the suburbs above those railyards..

The 3rd bridge crossing the river and connecting the German (below) and French-side together..

Small progress; small update -> This city takes up to 15minutes to load within SC4. It's almost fully develloped and totally covers every single tile of this 256x256 city.. Lots to show you but it will be in a slow pace

very nice...I love your realism. The soft photoshopping adds a nice touch. May I ask where you got the large L-shaped building in the second picture? Never mind...I seem to have found it.
