JBSimio

I've had Vista on both my desk top and laptop for a while now.  Installed SC4 followed by the Rush Hour expansion on both machines with no problems.  What exactly happens when the installation stops?

Hmm...

I do know that SC4 has issues with the home "basic" edition and all 64-bit editions.   Which edition is yours?  Is it 32 or 64 bit?

I am able to install and play SC4 on a 32-bit home "premium" edition with little problems.

my edition is Home Premium and it never get totally installed it just stops and a window comming up saying "put your disc in and restart the game"  it doesn´t really get installed. NO IDEA, as i said, on my big PC with XP Pro i have none of it...problems that is.

I am on a Vista Home Premium 64 bit system and Sim City 4 works EXCELLENT on my computer. I know how frustrating it can be though because I have Adobe software that does not work and in forums trying to find a resolve for it I see split sides of software working on the same version and not working on others. One thing I have noticed though that seems to come up a lot is that if you are having problems installing software is to put the software in, DO NOT run the install from the cd but right click on the disk and click on something labeled "Install as administrator" or something along those lines from the right click menu.

I also have turned off my UAC because I have found that to be a problem when installing software. Hope this at least gets you going in the right direction skyjuice.

My windows explorer keeps shutting down after I get the game running on my vista. I also get Rundll32 errors on occasion.

I plan on installing sc4 deluxe on a fresh install of 64 bit vista ultimate. Exactly what kind of compatibility issues should I expect? Heh, the only reason why I'm going 64 bit is because of 6gb of triple channel ram, yum.

I can say that SC4 works fine here. I got SC4 and Rush Hour installed without any problems.

I can get SC4 to install and run on a HP Compaq Presario Notebook PC (laptop), running Vista Home Premium (OS).  What I cannot understand is why it won't accept the installation of the Rush Hour Expansion Pack ...  %confuso  I have tried the "turn UAC off", and "run as Adminstrator" while doing the install.  Is there anyting else to try??  Are there any issues I am overlooking??  Any help will be gratefully appreciated.  Thanks
