Hey Paul, I just though it might be a good idea to make it in 2 pieces just the ends or something, so the user can make it any lenght they like?

just an idea :) to make an already rather fantastic object better :)

Yes, I tend to agree with Joe that a modular approach would be awesome. In case you wouldn't want to do that, I can always go for the modular approach while you can create some full sets for it.

because my screen had become dameged and as a poor guy without any money to buy a new one i had a little pc break. now a friend buyed a new one and i got his old one XD. even a better one as i had before.

the last days since i got the new one i was playing around with 3dmax.
first i wanted just creat some simple props for some lots but than i did a bat to
learn the functionality of 3dmax
actually i have to find out how to render the bat with the light and shadows fitting to the game ones and how to make nightlight.

below you can see the current progress:

it seems that become a bit more complex than i thought first XD

Hello Paul san. Wow, you are using Max! That is pretty cool, I use max7, quite the program. Well, if you are interested in adding these buildings to SC4, just click here, this program is called BAT4Max, and it is like the BAT gamepack but for 3ds max. The process of exporting is a bit longer*, but it is worth it in the long-run.

I hope to see more great BATs from you my friend, looks like you already figured out a lot! :)

(*More complicated, but renders/exports WAY WAY faster. ;))

art:i am glad you like it (the building  :D)

Fatsuhono san, thanks for that link to that pretty tool. it seems to work fine.
but i still have one point i cant understand.
i have no idea what kind of light i have to use and how to place it to get the shadows like the ones in game. and how does the script handle the light to fit it to the 4 angles of view.
when i put a light to get shadows and make a preview the shadows wont fit when i change the viewpoint.
i looked through a lot of threads here and on ST but i havent found anything to this point, so i think i must be stupid somehow XD

would be very nice if someone can help me with that problem.

Beautiful...   you've done a lot better than I have so far! I think that basic daylighting is handled by the BAT plugin though.

Paul's, It's your 1st BAT ?

Because is simply splendid and "magnifique".

Excellent work.

sim-al2: the problem is solveld by downloading a cam and light rig by simfox
so the rig i got from the bat 4 max hadnt any lights  but i still would like to find out how to costomize the rig

Earth quake: jep its the first one and i think half of the time creating it were spent in
finding out how 3dmax is working and making stupid mistakes  :D

some progress:
today i was working on a night scene that wont make me happy (especialy the windows)

i tried a huge amount of different values of the lights and actualy the windows are driving me crazy

glad you noticed the lights from it arthur :)

after working so long on the same bat it made me a little ty and i actually started a second one.

a 3 tiles W2W setup with 3 buildings in it
the reason to make 3 at once was to make some not just 16/32..m blocks

the coolest thing on batting is that you get views you will not have in game XD

still a lot to do on that

edit: arthur of cause it would fall down to the ground that way  XD
its just unfinished and there will come some poles to fix it on the building

i think that edit was some kind of dispensable XD

art128

this building is really great Paul  I very like the one in the right  but just a thing, the sign "HOTEL" flight around the building  $%Grinno$%

just another crazy view befor i will finish for today

Fatsuhono

Wow Paul! I love it! That hotel sign is looking really good! And remember, if you ever feel like it looks a bit too 'computerish' (mine do), you don't need to worry, it will always look great in-game! Because the brighter tint, and zoom level for SC4 will change that. :)

Wow Paul san, you have put so much effort into it, and it really shows! Great work!
- I especially love the greenhouse/terrace on the back. Very nice! :)
