Looks like I'm slowing down here in Jeopardy, but I'm not done yet (just keep tellinig yourself that). Nice updates Dustin. The tunnel design (and the tunnel-elevated highway transition is very well detailed and laid out. I think, in regard to the eastern end, there are some rather empty spots (like just below the central tower) that seem to create a hole, at least in my opinion, as I can't quite put my finger on it either. The Victoria is nice and that station is just amazing. Thanks (to you and Ill Tonkso) for bringing that to my attention, and to my plugins folder. I'll keep an eye out for the next installment of Jeopardy, and the next update, but until then, take it easy.

Another most interesting picture here, Dustin! You've chosen a good collections of BATs in this picture, and you're the first one to use ITS' 45° Station, that I've seen. I'd say it was a good idea to hide the railway merge behind ill tonkso's Georgian stores. Too bad not everything in SC4 can be seasonal, otherwise the picture would've looked even better.

Jon (JBSimio): Don't worry about missing stuff around here, it's OK! Your comments are always a pleasure to see and read here in Marathon. As for your take on the tunnel entrance, I agree—it's a bit of a conundrum! The reason I went from the sunken highway to the tunnel at the top of the slope was to give the impression that, in the tunnel, the elevation change that you mentioned takes place: a slight downgrade at the beginning of the tunnel, then basically following the slope of the ground until that platform, where an upgrade brings it to the tunnel exit. Of course, that's how it works in my head! In reality, not so sure that's how it would work! Hope that makes sense to you, and I hope to see you around again, my friend!

Dave (tooheys): Hi, Dave! Good to see you again, my friend! I'm glad you enjoyed the tunnel—though you're right, "WEST END" is definitely taken, and it's definitely magnificent, too! Thanks for stopping by, Dave!

bat: Thank you, bat!

dandan 777: Welcome to Marathon! I use the Italia Terrain Mod by c.p. How that answers your question, my friend!

Matt (threestooges): Hello, there, Matt! The empty spots on the eastern end mare one of what I think are a few culprits in the area. I think I'll take a look at this spot next time I head back into the game. With any luck, I'll have something to show for it soon! Thanks for your great comments, my friend! And hope to see you for this week's Jeopardy! rounds!

Casper (caspervg): Good to see you again, Casper! And you caught my trick (well, not my trick, I'm sure!) with hiding the switch behind behind the buildings. Thanks for coming by!

Arthur (art128): Thanks so much, Arthur!

DECEMBER 14

An attempt at a bit of an office park area. The nVIDIA Corporation Building by blanco_05 is a wonderful BAT, though I find it's one of those things that is a bit difficult to place. I feel that it works in those office park-type areas that are found in suburban areas, just outside the metropolitan and urban sections. Oh, and once again, I slipped the Canfield Building in!

Working on an update this afternoon and evening, hope to have it wrapped on soon.

Also, tomorrow starts the Double Jeopardy! round! Will Zack (woodb3kmaster) add to his already significant lead, or will some emerge from the pack to challenge him?

We'll find out starting tomorrow!

Stay tuned!

sim-al2

I do like that building now, but I've always thought it was too bright. However, it looks very natural in that setting.

It seems like RL goes hand-in-hand with this time of year.  I know it does for me.  &Thk/(  That's why I haven't been in here as much.  I should be able to find time for a little Double Jeopardy! tomorrow, though.  By the way, the Canfield looks better every time I see you use.  Every diagonal building is a plus, since they look so good along those diagonal roads that are so important to me.  :)  Good work, Dustin!

Hi Dustin!

Surprisingly enough, you've posted another wonderful "daily!"  It looks like the perfect recreation of a suburban office park to me and the Canfield Building fits there just as well as it did in the other picture.  (What a great versitile building, isn't it?)

In regards to the tunnel... I actually understood the idea behind the tunnel and it does make perfect sense to me too.  I was just pointing out what caught my eye when looking at the pictures.  That's not to say there's even anything "wrong" with it... just that it was something I noticed.  Either way, I'm much like you in that I love tunnels... especially downtown freeway tunnels for some reason.  I'd have built one into Covington already, but I don't feel that the size of the city justifies such a project at this time.  ;)

See you next time!
JB

If that building is difficult to place, you sure make it seem easy. Though it's more heavily wooded than the office parks I'm used to (then again, I live in the LA area where they've paved rivers, heh heh) I like it. I can almost hear the wind rustling through the trees. At any rate, I'll keep an eye out for the Jeopardy round tomorrow and see if I can give Zack a run for his money. Take it easy Dustin.

Hello Dustin,

I missed some great updates, which I knew would happen at this time of year.  I don't think I even had time this past weekend to turn on the computer.  I took my boys to see Santa Claus both days, shopping and stopping at friends houses occupies this time of year so easily.
What time of day did you take the picture of Victoria Gebäude?  And how long did the city run before you took the picture?  I am very surprised that the parking lot is empty, it should be full of cars.  ??? I'm glad you like the semi seasonal trees.  I saw a few LOTs in your city with them and that you ploped some here and there, so I thought it would be very fitting if this LOT had some as well.
I can convert/change any LOTs for you within a few moments any time you want.   ;)
I'm glad that you didn't run any Jeopardy over the weekend, otherwise I might be too far behind to be able to catch up.

Seeya later,
Robin

sim-al2: Thanks, my friend! The extra brightness may be my fault, though, as I adjusted the brightness and contrast in Photoshop.

Derry (TheTeaCat): So good to see you again, Derry! I hope everything is slowing down for you a bit, my friend. I'm glad to hear the you're all caught up and that you're enjoying things here in Marathon! Hope to see you again soon!

metarvo: I know what you mean—This time of year gets pretty hectic! Thankfully, I'm almost through with everything that I need to get done, so it won't be as bad. Thanks for coming by, and for your wonderful words, my friend!

Jon (JBSimio): Hey, there, Jon! I'd stick a sunken highway in the middle of a village if it would look even remotely right! I love them! And I couldn't agree more about the versatility of the Canfield Building! It works in just about any setting I can think of! Thanks for stopping in here, Jon!

BuildingUp: Thank you!

Arthur (art128): Thanks, Arthur!

Matt (threestooges): Hi, Matt! Thanks so much, my friend—I drew a bit of inspiration from an area around Allentown / Bethlehem, PA, where my girlfriend lives. There's a bunch of office complexes that have lots of open space and wooded areas around them, and I just found it an interesting place to try and recreate! Hope all is going well with you!

Robin (rooker1): Hello, Robin! I'm with you on being busy this time of year, my friend. My Saturday was completely obliterated with Christmas-related stuff! As for Victoria Gebäude—first, let me say, wonderful work on that, my friend! Just the little touches you've made to it have made a massive difference! To answer your questions, I'm not sure what time of day it was, but there were cars in the parking lot at one point and then they were gone. So, I sat there with the game running to try and get them to come back up, and well...what do they say about watching a pot of boiling water? They just didn't seem to pop up! Then, I just got frustrated and took the shot! Thanks for all your help and support, my friend. Marathon wouldn't be where it is (or anywhere, for that matter!) without you!

OK, today's picture...

DECEMBER 15

Just a little winter shot that I threw together as a bit of an experiment. I really had fun doing this one for some reason! I think I may have to play around with another one!

And, since it's now Monday...

Rats, looks like I'm a bit late for this round, but the picture is a nice way to soften the blow, heh heh. Very interesting picture. Is that texture on the ground from the game, or did you add if afterwards? Looks like winter has come to Marathon. I'm doing pretty well, I just need to get that Christmas shopping done, but at least I have a list now. Now to get ready for the fun of the excursion.
