It might be possible to create a hidden lot programmaticaly (scripting) or even change the source code of the game (now available), but have not any clue on the above.
Thoses words in parenthesis really really catch my eyes !
Where the hell can I find the source code ? . I waaaant iiiit !!!!!!!

Oh, please give it to him.  I'm drooling just thinking of what he did without it and wondering what we will get with it!

bwatterud

Wait...would modifications of the source code work on the Mac version?  I don't want to be left behind like we were with extracheats.dll.   :'(

cogeo

@wouanagaine: I was talking about the extra cheat DLL. But I have no idea what you can change by modifying this DLL and where you can find it. I just remembered a discussion on ST.
@bwatterud: Can't someone just compile the code for Mac? I don't know if the code is "portable", but I think someone could give it a try. Most of the code may be compatible, the points that must change must be local. Sometimes the source code contains parts that are compiled conditionally, eg for different platforms, or different options.

wouanagaine

Ah yes, the dll is available but nor the source code of that dll nor the source code of the game :(

The code won't compile on Mac, as it is another game compagny who made the port, even if most of the simulation code should be platform independant.

Thx for reposting the dll Serkanner, as the original one is lost

Oops ... sorry ... thanks to HabLeUrG for the link. I found it on ST.

The mod is ready now. All tiles are based on the existing GLR (textures and paths) and of course connect to "normal" GLR.

Another pic:

Details:

I have made the following tiles:
- Straight
- 90° Turn
- Long Right Turn
- Long Left Turn
- Diagonal
- T Junction
- Right Junction
- Left Junction
- Diagonal Right Junction
- Diagonal Left Junction
- Y Junction
- W Junction
- Straight (Single-Sided)

To the NAM people: I have used the IDs listed below:
- Button (Exemplar, LTEXTs, PNG): 0x6a47bo3b
- RotationRing/Addtypes: the range BF##
- Exemplars, S3D models and EffectDir: 0x58FFFE## and 0x58FFFF## (as I did not use the "Transpose" feature and did not make the S-curve which has its 3 tiles arranged horizantally, only a very short range was required).
These do not conflict with any of the current NAM's objects. I would like to ask you to reserve these IDs for me, ie refrain from using them now and in the future.

The next step is to make some more fence props, for not having just these black railings. As the props are referenced as prop families it is possible to have more than one prop models in the same city at the same time. If anybody has located any kind of props (fences, bushes, hedges, noise-absorbing walls, stone walls, metallic barriers etc) that could fit suitably please post.

The mod is about to be released soon. No problem if the NAM team wishes to include this in the next NAM; if not, then please keep the range above reserved.

wouanagaine

Wow this looks good, and may reconcile me with GLR

Nice project here!  I have to ask thought, have you put these pieces into a rotation ring(TAB rings)?

Gaston

Very nice indeed, cogeo.
Would these replace the originals or be an addition to them?

I don't understand very much of what was said about the technical comments.  But what I do know is there is some incredilble work going on here.  This GLR being in the middle of an avenue is awesome and just like where I live (Toronto).  This would add so much realsim to the game, it would be incredible.
You guys are amazing and I can't wait to see this through to the end.  Every new version of the NAM is more outstanding than the last!  You guys rock.

Cogeo, I really like the new pieces. You made a good job there
I asked the NAM team to have a look to this thread and check that everything is correct ( values and such...), as you requested  ;)
I am currently not active - Please, contact Tarkus for any site related matter. Thanks for enjoying SC4D :D

@jplumbley: Yes, these do have a RotationRing (Button and Tab), they are puzzle pieces, not TE lots.
@Gaston: These are new pieces and are accessible through a separate button. You can connect them to the "normal" GLR in any combination.
@bwatterud: Sad...
@jeronij: Thanks!

Gaston

Very kool indeed cogeo.   I'm glad you'll be able to use them in conjunction with the original.    I really love the "avenue" pieces as well.     I'd love to see those happen.     Like rooker1 said:

I'd deffinately have to agree with that .        Hope to see it happen.    That would make the ultimate GLR system for me.

The mod is on the STEX now. Currently I have included only one fence prop. I'm working on the others. Please post ideas, suggestions or requests here.

Many thanks to Tarkus and memo for their help!

No problem, cogeo.  Glad I could help. ;)  They look great, and I think they add a very realistic touch to the GLR network.  Most of the RL GLR I've seen has been fenced in some way.
