Hello.....
I'm not so experienced playing SimCity as you all are and also my English is not so good that I sometimes have problems reading the ReadMe's, specially the long readMe from the NAM. I installed the latest version of the NAM and everything is working fine the only problem is I dont see any trains, GRL and/or subways. I click on the stations and it says there are over 1.000 trains running but I never see them!!! :'(
Can somebody please help me with this??
Love chakka.

Install one of the Automata_Plugins.
Read the Installation Instructions to pick one of them.

chakka,

Don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong.  I would suggest that you install the automata plugin that is labelled "Radical"; That should display all those trains properly.

You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

allan_kuan1992

Automata generators on the STEX may create artificial traffic too if you find that it's hard to have game-simulated traffic show up.

Hi Vester,
I installed the automata pluging 'Radical". Waited a while playing the game but nothing changed. Than I took the whole NAM file out of the plugins and played the game, I got everything, trains and subways. The problem ofcourse than, I did'nt have anymore corners and was missing a lot of streets  :). I installed the NAM again and set the automata plugin to "Radical". Started the game and there I saw trains and subways for about 5 minutes and than it stopped again.........nothing!!! :'( :'(
First I was so happy it was working and now I'm sad again. Maybe I have to delete the whole city, I dont know what to do ()what()

I had a similar, slightly different problem some time ago (in my case the game crashed after a few minutes). The culprit was a third party plugin (neither NAM nor original Maxis).
Do you use automata related plugins? Take them out and test. If this does not work, take out all plugins except the NAM and test ...

Hi Chrisim,
Thank you for you answer. I dont know which plugins are automata related but that does'nt matter I'll go and try what you said and take out all the plugins except the NAM and but them back one by one to see which one causes a problem. It will take a while but I'll come back to say how it worked out.

For a temporary fix rename the NAM folder to "Z_Network Addon Mod" (can't remember the exact name, but just add a "Z" in front of it.) :)

Hi to all who are helping me with this,
Well the story goes on.....I took out all the plugins except the NAM. Run the game for a couple of hours, but no luck only (because I took all the other plugins out) I never saw so many brown boxes and no textures. Because I had nothing else in the plugin file but the NAM file I really think the problem is the NAM. I even tried the other advice to put a "Z" before the NAM-file but also that did not change anything. Still no trains, nothing! Many traveliers but no trains or subways.
I started another town in another region with no other plugins than the NAM but also there I got travelers but no trains.
A couple of years ago when I had the older version of the NAM I never had any trouble, everything worked fine. I now have a computer with Vista could that be the problem maybe??
I hope you will not loose patients with me and that there is a way to solve this problem.

You might need to change the Number of Cars/Sims setting in the Graphics Options. It might have gotten reset accidently.

That could be the problem, when I installed Rush Hour, it reset all my graphics settings to low and I had a similar problem trying to work out why everything suddenly looked so crappy!  :D

Thank you sim-al2, that did not help either. I tried the settings out in low, middle and high but nothing changed still dont have any trains etc.

It feels so sad that nobody can help me with this and it's no fun playing SimCity without all the other transport. Is there a way to get the previeus version of the NAM back because everything was running fine when I had that??

Which side of the road do your vehicles usually drive on--Right or Left?  If you're running a Left-Side version, you might be missing the Left-Hand Drive Plugin (it's the very last check box on the NAM Installer's options menu).  If you're running a Right-Side version, you may accidentally have the Left-Hand Drive Plugin installed.

Hi Tarkus,

Thank you for your reply.

Chakka, is your problem solved?
We solved a similar problem recently at Simforum.de
The culprit was a conflict between a mod that replaces the default elevated train automata and the SFBT BSC GLR Tram mod. In this case, the solution was to remove the file SFBT\GLR Tram Mod\BSC_SFBT_glr_light_rail_no_el-train_automata.dat

Also, if you are using the SFBT BSC GLR Tram mod, please redownload it. A problem with the tram-avenue stations was solved recently.

Hi Chrisim,
Thank you for your answer. I had a big problem with my pc, one day I started the pc and my whole D-drive was gone. Tried everything to get it back but no luck. Because the pc was from september last year (Accer Desktop)I send the pc back to Accer and I got it back with a blank D-drive. Everything on de D-drive was gone. Everybody always told me 'put everything you want to safe on your D-drive for when your pc crashes you will still have all your files save on the D-drive'. Nobody ever told me that one day when you open your pc your whole D-drive would be gone.
I had SimCity also on the D-drive and now people are telling me that the D-drive is lost because of SimCity, they say because SimCity is made for WindowsXP and it wont work with a pc with Vista. I doubt if that is true, have you ever heared of that??
Anyway I hope you understand my English with this whole story but I dont have SimCity on my pc now. I got the pc back from Accer and when I started it the pc had a fault in Windows so first I'm going to install Vista again to get rid of the mistakes.
I will save your advise for when I install SimCity again.
Hugs

Thanks Mike3775, I have Vista Home Premium also. I'm glad that you can play it fine so that can not have been the problem of loosing the D-drive.
