Anyone knows something about Dmscopio? It's been a while without news of him...

Fabian93

He was online yesterday and his last post in this thread was on 2. April, not really too long ago.

I think it's the Qingming festival and many websites are blocked and so he may not be able to get on

Well, it's a new interesting view of the museum :D

I've been on the museum this evening seeing the exhibitions of Cai Guo-Qiang and Takashi Murakami. Unfortunately we have been out of time to finish the exhibition of Murakami, the close at 8:00 pm. I hope to go again to see the rest of the exhibition.

I think you need to reindex something gaaaaaaaaaaah I cant really remember David??? I've seen this problem before and seen the solutions to it though but I would suggest you ask Tage aka Ripplejet or I know Matt aka Threestooges has had the same problem, so you could ask for help on it from either of them two...

EDIT: I was searching threw this thread here and I think this might be your problem here [linkie]

Pat: thanks for the pointer, i will have a look at the thread... I think the only solution is merge everything to a new scene and re-export the thing with a new LOD.

Bad news about the guggenheim...I have try everything to export it, but still encounter the same problem. I'd tried merging it in the new scene and clear out the plugins folder, but none of the them solve the problem. Anyone know what is it that causing the mess of the texture? I have break it into 3 parts for export...could it be the problem?

This looks familiar to me. Have you installed the GMAX BAT texture fix? If not, installing it will most probably fix your problem. Afterwards you will have to render everything again.

Thanks Praiodan, i will download the fix and try it later. One question, i am only using GMAX for exproting the LOD, but not the actual BAT. I am using BatforMax for the actual exporting. Will it fix the texture problem of this case? Anyway, i will try it since it is the only thing I can do now. Thanks.

The "Texture Fix" is actually a modified script that changes the ID assignment of the files within the *.SC4Model, so they won't clash with the Maxis IDs anymore. Since the LODs are basically the "canvas" where the rendered textures are "painted" on, I'd assume that it works in your case as well. This means it might be enough to re-render the LODs, actually, but since I never worked with BAT4Max, I can't comfirm that (and I don't know if you can render the LODs separately from the actual rendering process with 3DStudioMax).

dmscopio

Thanks praiodan and Andreas. After downloading the texture fix it solved all my problems:

Glad to see this fixed. And it makes me happy to see that I can still be of little help, even though I'm rather out of touch with the game, BAT and the community  ;D
