Very weird automata goings on.

I recently downloaded some automata for HSR. The SMP Amtrak Acela one.

I hadn't changed the monorail skin for years, so the previous skin was in the program files/SimCity4/plugins/ directory. I removed that and put the new one in there.
Loaded up the game and saw this:


Those aren't the carriages I was expecting...

I figured I must have another skin installed somewhere, so I moved it into my documents/SimCity4/plugins/zzz/ and, sure enough, it then showed properly:


I then decided to track down that other skin, so I removed the new one completely, but when loading up the game it returned to the default Maxis monorail. I then opened up the SMP Amtrak Acela dat file in the reader, but those carriages are not in there. Where did they come from? Does anyone recognise them?
