Ok, I have found lots of people automata in the lot editor thanks to the help of you guys here, now, along the same lines, does anyone know of any people generating lots?  I found the milling people props and stuff, but I could never get the people to leave the lot.  So...are there any lots out there that just make people that wander around, sort of like the animal terraforming tools?  Or how do I get the props, or locate the props that generate people who leave the lots?  Am I at all clear?

There is a Randomwalk prop where people will wander all over the place including through walls, across roads etc etc. Sims are stupid ;D
Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened. TP

Excellent!  Thanks Barby!  Now...is that a standard prop, or a special download?  I have most of the prop packs out there, so chances are I have it, so I will have to look for it.  Is it called Randomwalk then?

Randomwalk is indeed a standard Maxis prop.

The random-walk is not literally a people automata-generating object, instead it's an "effect". The "automata" won't go far. But it can be nice in some lots. I have used it in some of my rail stations (in front of the main entrance).

The only true people automata-generating objects I'm aware of are NAM's pedestrian mall tiles. This effect was removed in some NAM version, I'm not sure about its current state. It might be worth to check their automata-generating scripts.

As far as I remember, the pedmalls used the randomwalk effect prop as well. But every single tile spawned walking sims, so it was a bit of an overkill. ;) I hope that someone will make nice T21's for the pedmalls, and maybe they could be made draggable as well, so we'd be able to get some more variety, and easier usage. Well, one can dream...

Thanks guys!  Soooo...that leads me to my next question.  I should be able to edit the NAM Ped Mall tiles in LE to remove the center poles, and if they use the Randomwalk prop, I could change that around too without changing the function correct?  Basically, LE doesn't change function, only appearance?

Yes, you can edit/add T21's to the pedmalls without changing the functionality.

Actually, they used the Occupant Group "Landmark Ogle" in the exemplars for the Ped Mall tiles. This was removed as the sheer number of Sims walking around would bog down slower computers and cause lag on others. Using the "Randomwalk" prop would be a better use of system resources while displaying Sims on the Ped Mall tiles.

The "Randomwalk" props display Sims via a LUA script and an Occupant Group. The LUA script tells the game how many Sims to generate and defines various other properties for those generated Sims. The Occupant Group is simply an "anchor" as to where these Sims will spawn around.
