Both pics are really good, both contestants seem to try to be as accurate to reality as SC4 allows, that is how I play and that is how I like it. Straha's pic is more unique with the abandoned bridge, I've never seen anyone do that before, and the picture is not altered with in photoshop that's a plus It's somewhat empty in the top right corner that brings it down a bit.
The oil refinery in Sam Johnson's picture looks very realistic, everything in the picture looks like it belongs to the scene, the cloud effect does not add to the picture IMO, it hides parts of the scene that I want to see.
As I have a soft spot for industries, industrial wasteland and other "backyards of the city" my vote goes to Sam Johnson.

Straha: very good picture but you have too strong competitor this time 
Sam Johnson: the refinery area is very well planned, it looks like a real refinery - it is rare in SC4. In addition the atmospheric effect gives even more realistic feeling and it decided about my vote

Straha's rural is for shure nice, and i like the new road besides its old road. But Sam Johnson's industry gets my vote. Normally i am not much fan of photoshoper pics, the fog shure looks weel hanging over the industries.

Tough one. 

I like the smalltown feeling in Wes' picture but these alleys seem to be .. to empty for me. I mean cars and everywhere concrete but nothing else ...
