Hey Dustin, I just stayed up late the past two days after I saw your Region as it really caught my attention, and soon after, my heart...

I've been in a downward spiral of motivation for SC4 and just couldn't pick up the reigns.. I was desperate, clinging to CJ's here and in ST... They made me "feel" a need  to play, but it wasn't enough of a push to get me to double click the shortcut to the Executable... Then yours got me, and as soon as I got finished reading (about 3 minutes ago) I picked up my ipod, brought out some grid paper, and begun the LE which I never thought could do so much. ;D

Well now I hope outdo everything I thought I could do, I also will Embark on helping you when I come to that point. And maybe even rivaling you. ;]

But enough of that, you can sure add me to your list of fans ;3 !!

Keep up the Excellent Masterpiece !!!
Hah I love these poeple..

One of my favorite buildings and some of my favorite props.  Very unique and fits in the space well.  Well done.

I've got the textures you used for the semi-circle plaza, i think they come from the niagra monument on STEX http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=3724.
Love your work with this stuff.

My new MD. Check it out if you wish.

Ooh, an update so impressive that I actually opened the SC4 the first time in 5/6 months :D

But seriously Dustin, that's what I understand when I hear the term 'MD update.' The Commonwealth Hall looks great. The BAT itself is amazing, kinda reminds me of The Capitol building in Washington DC. It is based on San Francisco City Hall, isn't it? Either way, it looks gorgeous. But then we have that custom lots...

OH. MY. GOD. How do I adore them! The park, plaza, or whatever you'll name it on the right is really realistic with that big, majestic fountain in the middle. The trees and the light poles seem to be placed just right, too. And in my opinion the thing that really sets you apart from the other custom lotters - the sidewalk transitions. I think they are your true trademark. I wouldn't come up with such a lovely whitish pink/brown transition. You have a great taste in colours, my friend. ;)

Those great sidewalks bring us to the Hall's lot itself. Again, very nice play on colours in the sidewalks area. I would personally expect some more brown there on the ground textures, but white is really good and fits in very well. Those huge jrj's trees in the green areas of the lot add a feel of... OK, I guess I'll have to use that word again, majesty to the building. They don't irritate and look right when placed next to some mid-height structure (like the Hall's dome), and you used that fact nicely. I also love the fact that this lot is symmetrical. In other words, awesomeness in pure form.

Finally, we have some diagonals. Well made, good use of flowers and trees, the plazas look good. Oh, and have I ever told you how much I adore those flower compositions in your parks? Geez, if your backyard looks as great as your lots, I'm so going to you just to get some gardening tips! :D In other words, the parks are top notch, but I think that it's partly because of the fact that there are diagonal lots there. I think if it weren't for them, I wouldn't write a whole paragraph about them ;)

I think that there might be a problem though... A little one but still. The building is in the middle of the CBD, sorrounded by all the tall buildings. There is still some open space in front of it, but what if there wasn't any? The Capitol, ans well as SF's City Hall doesn't have that problem, since they're in a (relatively) low-density areas. I think that if I were to fill those empty spaces, I would consider putting some shorter (eg. low-density) buildings. Because it would be a pretty huge mistake to hide such a gem, no?

All in all, great work. Oh, and I see that there is a bit of a slowdown here? Well, don't worry my friend. I think that everyone of us (or at least most of us... *looks at himself ::)) has a life which he must, well, live to put it simply. So don't worry if you'll only be able to update later than usual. We all want you to take your time and don't feel rushed about this MD. After all, playing SC4 and every other game should be fun, shouldn't it?

Keep up the great work with lots, planning and inspiring others, my friend. You are truly 'The Boss' when it comes to the custom lot based MDs ;)

Our first week of the 4-in-1 brought us Tale at Tea Time by friend and long standing member Derry. This week we're proud to bring you a second entry from the MD Hall of Fame created by a long time member of the site, friend, as well as one of it's most devoted statisticians:

Wonderful to see you in OSITM Dustin &apls
It's excellent that You take up the baton in our little relay Dustin.

Congratulations mate , you certainly deserve it and I really look forward to what you have in store.
Amazing skills with the LE you have and this is especially reflected with Marathon Mall &apls

only nitpick? Benches. where do all the sims get to sit and eat their lunch? Such wonderful features like the garden and the fountain would have some benches scattered around . Other than that 10/10

Till the next time

regards
Derry

Welcome back Dustin!  I guess it's no big surprise to see you spending a week here in OSITM, but I'm certainly looking forward to whatever you have up your sleeve.

I noticed that, even though I saw it a while ago, I failed to comment on your government center... oops!   &ops  I really like the lots you made for this area (and, yes, I did notice that it's one of the spots I asked about at one point)... especially with the large fountain.  I would however echo Derry when it comes to adding some benches.  Someone else mentioned centering the building more along the wider avenue you have leading up to the square.  Personally, this would have been my choice as well... but I'm a sucker for symmetry in formal areas like this.  I think it's more of a personal taste than anything else and it looks great regardless of how you choose to position it.

Hope to see more soon,
JB
