Hi everyone,

for soem unknown reason Ennedies Jagged Edges Mod isn't working for me. Regardless of having the mod installed or not, the terrain looks like this:

I tried both the mods for the standard maxis terrain and for the Columbus terrain mod (although as far as I know I haven't got a terrain mod installed). I tried the mod for the columbus terrain mod just because I do have cycledoggs Columbus Tree Controller installed ... so I thought that maybe this controller includes a terrain mod also.

I already renamed the mod "z_*" in order to have it load last.

Any suggestions?

It has to be loaded after the "Terrain Properties" exemplar (in the terrain mod you are using). Renaming it to z_... doesn't guarantee this.

Better create a subfolder starting with z_... (eg Z_TerrainMod or Z_HeightMod) and move the Jagged Edges Mod there.

Rady

Ok, thanks, will try that. But do you know wheter the Columbus Tree Controller containes something ("terrain mod") that effects this part of the game?

Terrain mods typically do contain a modified version of the "Terrain Properties" exemplar.

And forgot to mention, the subfolder I'm talking about must be directly under your Plugins folder (so that it is loaded after the plugins in the CPT_TerrainMod_Columbus subfolder).

Rady

Well, this seems to be a hard one ... I now created a folder named "ZZZZZ_Jagged Edges", placed in in the "Plugins" directory, and removed the "Columbus Tree Controller" (CPT_No7_TreeController_DefaultMaxis_RequiresNo8andNo9.dat) from my plugins folder - but still I get those jagged edges.

So now I have the following "Mods" in my plugins folder:

None of them should interfere with the terrain, as far as I understand it. In the PEGPROD folder there are just the "utopian avenue medians". My plugin folder now looks like this:

where I have the "zzENN_Maxis_and_Teirusu_Terrain_DJEM.dat" file from Ennedis Jagged Edges mod in the "ZZZ*" folder.

At least now it should work. But it doesn't ...  :'( :'(

The installation (I mean the 2nd pic) looks OK. It should work.

Have you checked if the height difference between the top and the bottom of the tiles to become "walls" is greater than or equal to the minimum required (as specified by the mod maker)? There's an "Extra Cheat" (press Ctrl+X) named "Terrain Query". You can see the exact elevation of each point you hover with the cursor.

There are times when I simply don't understand computers. I added the DJEM once again, and now it works as intended. If only I knew what I have been doing different before ...
