The latest update of NAM is July, 2009. No more update of NAM apart from that one?
When will the next update of NAM release?

It will be ready when it's ready ;) There are no release dates for the NAM, because you can't predict what will happen with you in the RL :)

You haven't answered my weation. When will the next update of NAM released? Or they just abandon NAM.

MandelSoft

Io_bg actually did answer your question. It will be released when it is ready. This is due to the fact that we from the NAM Team don't know either how long it takes to get the next version ready for distribution. But don't worry, we are still working on it  ;)

io_bg answered your question. A new update of the NAM will be released when it is ready. There is no set release date because it would probably be missed due to RL issues.

brianfung

It is already six months already.
What do NAM team working on.
Be specific people.

As the saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day".
All good things take time, check in this thread for development progress on the NAM.

Jonathan

For the same reason we can't give release dates we can't be very specific, as if we said something was going to be in the next release and then for some reason something happens and we cant include it, people won't be very happy.

But you can bet that somewhere near the the NAM release there will be a RHW release.

brianfung

But now what items does NAM team develop on?

A time machine of course. And as soon as they get it finished, they'll release it yesterday.

Yup, I've been spyin on you GearHeads...

choco

all of the transit items.

some are enhancements to existing items, others are completely new.

i would suggest that you take a few minutes and search the site, as the development threads for each project (RHW, TULEPs, TRAM, etc.) have the information you are asking for.  These are the threads where the NAM team shows and discusses new features and items to the public.

please remember that we work in our free time, which is always changing due to life matters.  the "no dates" policy is a direct result of this, we just cannot predict when we will finish.....at least until its done.

MandelSoft

Or you get a situation like Cities XL: they set a deadline, and when it's released, it's not 'finished' yet. Please be patient.

There a difference though: The guys at Cities XL get pay for that. This is a volutenteer effort , give them some time and patience and they'll give you a good mod.
Returning from Call of Duty . Must rebuilt what I destroyed....

I think if the NAM folks never release another bit of work we should all be greatful and satisfied with what they have given us.

Don't worry about the future, enjoy the now.

;D ;D ;D
If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.

"It'll be ready when it's ready.  It'll be ready when it's ready".  I would call y'all smart-mouthed, but we're all typing.  I'll call y'all smart-fingered.  People are just excited about the opportunity to improve their gameplay.

You do realize that this is all done FREE of charge. The fine people on the NAM team use whatever free time they have to provide us with amazing additions to an otherwise out-dated game. I believe the phrase you should be considering, when calling someone who is giving you something for free a smart mouth, is.. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I once said this in a development thread of one of my own projects:

QuoteI don't mind when people ask when it'll be released. What frustrates me is that I don't know the answer!

I don't know about the NAM guys, but I'd bet they wish they could say "It'll be out in two weeks". But if you set a date, and you can't keep it, then you get people coming to your thread and saying you broke your promises etc.

They just don't know when it will be 'ready' maybe the NAM's new developments are 'ready' now. But NAM releases things not when they are 'good enough' but when they are perfect. I know from being a NAM associate that there are a lot of new developments in the NAM and NAM plugins this time around. Forgive me for saying they're worth the wait.
