Should the water front have some higher density buildings

No I like it as small and quaint little houses and trees
4 (21.1%)
Some medium here and there but keep most houses
5 (26.3%)
most medium density town houses and condos
3 (15.8%)
some high apartments and the rest are houses and town houses
2 (10.5%)

This will be a rural region MD. Green Bay is in the rocky mountains on the coast in a fertile bowl between juneau and Vancouver, but it is closer to vancouver. The region will consist of many cities towns and various resorts and touristic facilities.

Today we will look at the biggest town in the region.

The town of Granton is the biggest in the immediate aria and has a large sum of farms and a few nice businesses. It is the main touristical town of the region with a fairy dock and a rail line that has Alaska railway and via rail as its 2 companies.

Here is downtown. It is the only part of town where businesses are found so it is usually busy. The train station is in the middle of town so there is no difficulty getting to you're hotel quickly. The best hotel found in this town is the rim rock with its many balconies, lounge aria, restaurant and it even has a swimming pool. The post office is on the left corner of salvage street of the main road. The 2 new apartments and the 2 tennis courts were built in 2004 in order to bring more people downtown and help ease the parking problem. The apartments were built between the older stores of downtown making the core seem more full and lively. On top of that the tennis courts add a nice relaxing touch that everyone can enjoy. Downtown there are many nice stores like Bernard Callabou chocolates, Block busters movies, Emma's Cafe. Tim Hortons, Green Clover Pub, Granton, Jewellers, Granton food Market, Castle auto parts, Tai kitchen, Salvage street Bakery, Booster juice, Retinas, Dares clothing outlet, Ryan.co Sports gear. Riddley Cycles and more.

Durring the night downtown calms down a little bit but this is also the time when all the local clubs open.

The population and stats are shown in this picture.

It looks like a lovely town, Daniel. Very similar to the types of towns I sometimes build. But, also, could you please convert the PNGs to JPGs? This page of great work took about five minutes to load completely.

I am LOVING the downtown area, and I love how the track runs right through it :)

Battlecat

Excellent start here!  That's a pretty great looking town with the railway right through it.

marsh

You did a great job on the town. keep it up!

Squalled

Great work so far, the Downtown Area is brilliant! Where did you get the hotel?

canyonjumper

ecoba: Wow really  &mmm What kind of computer are you using? Anyway It would be nice but every time I try to do it I get this page full of instructions I don't even understand. You've gotta remmember I'm not a computer wiz like some of us but if you find a simpler way than please tell me.

nedalezz: Thanks I like it too.

Battlecat: Thank you.

marsh: Thanx.

Squalied: I got the hotel from simgoober. It should be on the stex or lex.

canyonjumper: Super thanks.

Tomas neto: I can kind of guess that since you're CJ is rural.

UPDATE

The city has drastically changed in the last 3 years as you can see by the IBM building and the new condos are all new additions to the skyline. Also a new seaport has been added to help ship all the new produce coming out of the aria.

Here is the night view.

Heres a closer view of downtown and main street. You can see the demolition of the old high school and the brand new one behind. Many new schools and libraries have been added now that the city has gotten bigger.

You can see the old post office, IBM building, the saw ridge hotel, Berkley's jewellers, Retinas and the other iconic buildings downtown.

This is a picture of the two new constructions, Sunset view condos and station tower.

MattyFo

Very nice, looks very "small city Canada".  For some odd reason it reminds me alot of Prince George.

!!!!GO HABS GO!!!!

djvandrake

Looks very nice, but you seem to have some trash in your streets.  Surely a mayor with as many simoleans as you can hire a trash truck or two?

tooheys

Hi Daniel, great start to Green Bay. Looking good.

ecoba was correct when he suggested you change the pic format from png to jpg. I have sent you a PM suggesting a couple of tools that may help you.

Dave

canyonjumper

This looks great! Where did you get the taller tower in the last pic?

With all that growth, that at-grade railroad might become dangerous. Also, if you haven't got it yet, get the SimFox Day n Nite Modd.

Tomas Neto

Daniel, my friend, fantastic city!!! I adore cities that aren't very large and nor very small, as this city that you did, that I consider the right size!!! Awesome update!!!  &apls &apls

ecoba

The second update took a little less time to load, but still it took time. I have a fairly new computer, only about two years old. I'm sure that Dave (tooheys) gave you some excellent suggestions in his PM, but if he did not include IrfanView, I would highly recommend it. I'll send you a PM with some basic instructions if you decide to use it.

Anyway, actually talking about your update, I am really liking the mid-rise buildings in the downtown area. You are also using some of Matt (mattb325)'s homes very well. And, Jordan. That last tower is Maxis.

Thank you for you're comments and help. I'm going on a ski trip to panorama so I'll be gone the next 4 day's. Take care.

CrossSide

Nice! How do you get so much money?

Battlecat

Great job on the second update.  I quite like the buildings in the last shot!
