Just a quote of myself, to bring the problem across.  $%Grinno$%

To tell you, what's delaying the update and the replies:

I had a building grown, that neither fit nor was the right stage. I bulldozed it, but the LOT didn't vanish!!! So if anyone has any idea, what to do, please comment.

Further explanations:

  • The LOT doesn't react on bulldozing or deleting zones.
  • The LOT doesn't react on building anything or rezoning.
  • The LOT doesn't have any description beside that it's "Land der Stadt" (in English, maybe: "Belonging to the city." Like police, schools, etc.).
  • The Pedmall-Trick doesn't work either, as they can't be plopped.
  • Lowering the ground to Sealevel, doesn't help either.
  • And there are still 600+ people working, as well as the mayorrating declined abruptly from 80 to -60.

This is an ugly spot as of now, and I want it to be removed, before my next update, as I'm a kind of perfectionist with that. I hope we can get it done. ;)

The empty lot is most likely one of those landmarks growing on empty lots.
The reason you cannot bulldoze it though, is that you've also encountered the immortal lot syndrome.
That can be the lot itself, but can also be any of the neighbouring lots.

I'd first ask you to see if you are able to bulldoze everything around that lot (within a few tiles).
See if all buildings, road-top mass transits and other surrounding lots can be bulldozed without leaving any traces.
If you after that still cannot bulldoze the empty lot, it becomes a bit trickier...

You could first try to dezone the whole area around the lot. That most likely won't work though...
After that only one option remains...

You would have to plop another lot causing the immortal lot syndrome next to this one (or surrounding this one).
In other words, you'd need a lot where the building's Occupant Size would overhang and thus interfere with this empty lot.
After that you should be able to bulldoze both the empty lot and the newly plopped one(s) at the same time.

The problem here would of course be to find a lot that causes the immortal lot syndrome...
You obviously have one in your plugins already (even if that's something you wouldn't want to have).
Since you've managed to partly bulldoze it, I assume you cannot query it anymore to get its name though.

Let's get back to this after you've tried to bulldoze the surrounding lots first though...
I would have to create or track down a building causing the immortal lot syndrome for you in that case...
There are quite a few of them available out there btw... ::)

PS.
Do not save your city after these initial bulldozing experiments... :)

Thank you very much in advance RippleJet. I'll try this till the weekend. I also tried to track the lot, but it takes some time with a Plugins-Folder of 3.8 GB. Even when I'm sure its a commercial building.

One of the most "destructive" items in the game are puzzle pieces. If everything fails, try to plop a number of pedmall pieces on top of the indestructible lot, most likely, this will destroy it eventually, so you just have to bulldoze the pedmall tiles afterwards.

So, RippleJet, I followed your advice, but bulldozing and dezoning didn't work. So it seems like I'm on the tricky side ;)

Thank you, Andreas, but as I mentioned, the Pedmall-Trick didn't work. I can't build any puzzlepieces onto this LOT (I tried GLR, RTMT, Pedmalls; didn't help)

Thank you all for your help.

Ok, then let's try this... :)
This is the first time I've purposely created a lot suffering from the immortal lot syndrome... ::)

Download this attached lot and place it in your plugins folder.
In the game, it will appear pretty high up in the park menu.
The icon contains a yellow Maxis bulldozer.

First clear (bulldoze) the avenue in front of that immortal lot of yours.
Plop the enclosed RJ-Immortal Lot in front of it (its size is 3×2),
so that the bulldozer of it overhangs your immortal lot.

After that, you should hopefully be able to bulldoze both these lots at the same time.

Let me know if you're successful.
If you are, you might want to remove my immortal lot from your plugins... ;)

EDIT:
Attachment removed. Please read my last post further down.

Thanks RippleJet, it worked. Whenever I'll find the time to BAT, I'll honour your helpfull answers.

Till then you should get an extra point on reputation.

I'm really fascinated, that you got the solution that fast!

Thank you, Andreas, but as I mentioned, the Pedmall-Trick didn't work.

Ah, sorry, somehow, I must have missed that particular line.  &ops

Thanks, soulchaser! :)

I performed some more experiments with immortal lots,
and wrote Immortal Lot Syndrome - Cause and Cure based on that.

I've also made a smaller version (1×1) of the Immortality Killer.
Thus, the attachment above has been removed.
