The problem for me is how.
When you build a town or working on the nature and is working on a large square,Simcity after doing half of this square building, slows down and works very slowly.
I bought a computer thinking that the graphics card and processor, solve the problem of slow play.
At the moment I play in a higher resolution, the only thing that allowed my computer.
The processor is ok I think,Graphic card too i thing.
What can I do to make the game still did not work more slowly from minute to minute.

This is my computer:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
RAM 4 GB
Dysk 1 T
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 1 giga
Sound Blaster 5.1
Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium Service Pack 2 (6.0.6002
64 Bit operating system

Total paging file size for all drivers:
Minimum allowed:16MB
Recommended:   6141 MB
Currently allocated: 4394 MB

I do not know what information we give you more

Do you have Shadows on? That alone is a huge performance hit. I have a comparable CPU running 8gb of RAM with Vista and only enable High settings across the board for taking pictures. I find that Medium is more than adequate for building and city development. We could use a bit more information about what settings for SimCity 4 you have enabled.

Turn Cienie (Shadows) to Off. That is going to improve performance ALOT. I'd personally turn Visual Effects, Texture Quality and City Detail all to Medium. Clouds/Fog can also be turned off.

Try that and I think you'll find the performance much nicer.

Are you placing many trees at once?  I have had problems with holding down the mouse while using god-mode to cover a region with trees.  My solution for that is holding the button down for a while, then scrolling the map a little, and repeat.

Actually.  Left mouse button does trees, right mouse button scrolls.  By placing trees while scrolling I have sped my tree planting time up a lot.

But turning off your shadows is certainly the best place to start.  I could play medium cities just fine on a 1.4ghrt processor, 16mb graphics card, and 128mb or RAM.  (...the upgrade to dual2.4, 256mb, and 2gigs RAM was sweet)
