The Kingdom of Saint Sophia is a sovereign and independent State located at the end of the English Channel, in the North Sea, between the UK and the Netherlands. Known internationaly because of its climate -a very rainy one-, its economy and its excellent international relationships, the country is the modern successor of a great empire, formed after years of battles, annexions and treaties. Sophial society is respectful and tolerant.

Areas in dark blue are part of Saint Sophia today. Light blue ones were part of the Sophial Empire.

Well, this is under construction. Soon there'll be more pictures of the country and more information. Sorry if I make mistakes, I'm Spanish ;)

The header and the rest of pictures in this post will be changed to .jpg format soon.

Nice job Wish-Maker! You did excellent. I am proud to be your first reply. Also, one of the pictures of people you have, it is actually TAYLOR SWIFT! Anyways, I might see this CJ up in the Hall of Fame in about two year's time if you just keep working.
Cheers!

Thanks. Yeah, I know she's Taylor Swift. She is beautiful, and I love her music  ;D

So let's post some pictures. We'll start with the sophial countryside. Most of the country is completely covered by skyscrapers and roads, but there's still a bit of nature waiting to be visited soon...

Welcome to the Duchy of Auria, in the Principality of Eira. This is one of the best examples of the oceanic forest in the country. Saint Sophia has a rainy climate, but temperatures aren't cold -the minimum is -4ºC in the highest mountains in winter-. The area is filled with trees, small houses and fields with horses.

12:00 is the time when you can find absolute relax...

Houses here are completely scattered. You can find them alone or in small groups. Farms are also usual.

Pictures changed to .jpg format ;)

Interesting start. Could become quite interesting - however you PNGs are rather huge. For people like me with a slow connection and no flatrate itwould be real nice if you converted them into JPGs for example with the free Irfanview.

Take care

Bernhard

planetechef

great job on your presentation  &apls i like your governement very much  :D the queen of course, she's beautifull, nice pictures as well with great effect  i'm gone waiting for see more take care...

rooker1

I have to agree with the others....great start, interesting presentation and I really really like the facts of the region.
I can't wait to see the city on either side of that really nice bridge.  The fog effect is a nice touch as well.  Great work so far.

Robin

HOLY *explative*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Wish-Maker

Thank you everybody! The most astonishing thing is that my friends say that I shouldn't use that fog effect. But I prefer to keep on putting it in the photos ;D

Robin, the nearest city is Auria, but I'm still preparing it, and you'll have to wait for pictures of it.

Girafe, it's true that there are very dense forests in the country. The Government tries to save them from the urbanisation, so they are protected areas.

And now, time for the energetic part of Saint Sophia.

We're still in Eira, but we're in the Duchy of Ailenne. In Saint Sophia, nuclear power plants produce 70% of all the energy needed, as fossil fuel is no longer used. The use of alternative power generation methods is one of the most important goals of the current government. However, the country is a producer of petroleum and natural gas, which are sold to other States.

In the picture, you can see one of the biggest nuclear power plants in the Kingdom. It was opened in 1985. This plant combined with other two that are nearby produces electricity for about 8,000,000 people. Of course, it has been sorrounded by controversy, because it's in a protected environement.

Well so the mini-update finishes here. If you don't see any water sources, it's because they doesn't appear in the image.

Take care!

rooker1

Fantastic.....
I keep fogeting to down load this.  On my way over to Simtrop now and looking up El Burro.  ;)

Robin
Call me Robin, please.

marsh

Lovely nuclear plant. If you can use the word "lovely"  ::) That intoduction is Amazing and so in-depth. How did you make that population density map?

Great job and good luck with this MD!

,marsh

The Wish-Maker

Thank you for the comments!

Marsh, it was done with Photoshop. I putted together all the maps of each Duchy, and I first colored everything with yellow (low density). Then, I covered some zones with orange and read depending on the concentration of buildings. Ah, and this isn't an in-depth introduction. See the introduction in my Capital SimCity thread (it's in Spanish). It's a lot bigger. But I will try to translate and post here everything that is there.

And now, you'll see Ursia -Sanit Sophia's capital city- in a typical foggy morning...

marsh

Thats a big city. Love the fog effect.

kwakelaar

This must be the most beautiful royal family in Europe, obviously no inbreeding in Reino de Santa Sophia.
And you have even managed to find a photo of the government in front of the palace, nice one.
Maps and introduction is done very well. With the different islands and provinces scattered throughout the world you have the possibility to make any style of Simcity you can think of.
Although the fog is a nice effect, I would not use it in all images. Sometimes it is nice to see pictures without too much blurring.

Great start. I see a lot of potential in your MD.

To be honest, I don't like the fog effect. It makes me wanna clean my glasses.

wallasey

Exceptional mapwork and presentation; very promising.

The Wish-Maker

Thanks everybody for posting here :)

Kwakelaar, it took a lot of time to find all those pictures, because I wanted it to be as real as possible. And yes, the idea is to create cities of all the styles, but it's a plan for the future.

Kalvar, es cierto que nos conocemos de CSC :D Maybe you'll see that some pictures are the same, but soon I'll post new ones.

Wallasey and Marsh, thank you for your comments.

RickD, now you'll see photos with that effect. Don't worry, there'll be lots of them without it.

Well, let's begin with the new update. Now we move to the west of the country. We're now in the Principality of Alba. Its capital city -Alba as well- is one of the most important ones in the country, as it's a financial and political center.

In this picture, you can see the City Hall. It stands in the centre of the Old Quarter.

That long building is where the Lefevre family lives. Lefevres are noble people, and they're known because they are all very good politicians. Sebastien Lefevre is considered to be the best Prime Minister in the History of Saint Sophia.

These are the gardens of the Lefevre residence.

The Lefevre Boulevard has lots of shops. It's a good place to go for a walk, but it is the worst one in the city to buy a flat, as they cost a lot.

In the top of the photo, you can see the Cathedral. At the bottom, you can see the Lefevre Boulvard and the Atomium, which is a monument to all the physicists and chemists in the country, as there are lots of them.

Soon, more pictures! Take care! ;)

Tomas Neto
