Help with openning lots!

What is a message?
How to open such lots?

I have windows 7.

That means that the building, which is used on that lot, cannot be found in your plugins folder(s).
Which lot are your trying to open?

Almost all.

Not maxis growableable buldings, and some plopable.

Only parks successfully opens.

i have this problem on some of my lots too, never could figure out why, so i just use the x-tool's lot editor instead :p

Hi all !

So i do have the same problem on my new computer...
It happens with allmost all the LOTs, exept for Maxis LOTs I think, but well...



I'm quite familiar with the Lot Editor so I am confused.
The Lot Editor was working well on my laptop, which was on Win7 SP1.
My new computer is also on Win7 SP1.
I do have all the files in my plugin folder, and the game is working well.
This is exaclty the same game and plugin folder that I had on my Laptop.

Hope someone can help me, I need the Lot Editor ! otherwise, no more Med inspirations.

Have you given yourself full administrative privileges on both your plugins (my docs and C:/ Programs file/Maxis drive) folders?

That may address the issue

I do have full administrative privileges on both folders... 
BTW, the files are not on "Read only".


Any ideas ? I'm going to reinstall everything and see if it works but well... I'm not convinced !

Guess you've already read that but still, is the LE pointed towards the correct folder? Also;

I second that, start using the SC4PIM, it's way better than the Maxis LE and easier in use as well!

Well this is the first thing that came in my mind... But how can I be sure about that ?
Also, I figured out that some of non maxis LOTs are working, I can edit some of SFBT team LOTs for example... So I guess the LE can find some of the LOTs in the plugin folder after all... Where's the Fries? (next time we'll wash your mouth out with soap) ?!

Ouch, sorry to see you're stuck between a rock and a hard place 

I'd suggest to do a search for MSVCR71.dll, either the file or the registry got corrupted somehow. I remember I had to download some dll files eventhough they were already present as well.

I had MSVCR71.dll but also needed Msvcp71.dll, but the error was not asking for this file... But looking on internet for MSVCR71.dll thanks to you, I found the other file here :

So... SC4PIM is now working ! Thank you ! I'm going to post that on the support thread.

The Lot Editor is still not working BTW, and I still like it so if you have any idea...
