Hi All,

Am just about finished with another massive rebuild ( the 2nd in the last six weeks!).  This time I payed attention to the instructions about keeping files in suggested file/folder structure.   ::)  Most everything is working.  However, once I initially get into any of the cities in a region (specifically a previously started seaport type), a message pops up referring to plugin packs by numerical reference instead of by name.  I have gone back and loaded all the seaport stuff off the LEX DVD and the zipped ones I can find on my hard drives.
The only one that still shows up refers to "Plugin Pack 784051648".  Can anyone help with this?

Thanks a bunch!  ;D

You mean like a prompt saying Plugin pack (number here) is missing, this may cause graphs to no longer display correctly?
I have something strikingly similar with JENX's Gare du Nord, so I'm curious about the solution as well.

Sadly we don't have a database of Plugin Pack IDs, so there's no way to tell from the number what is missing. You need to wait for a brown box to appear and then query it and get the name of the building or prop.

I wonder if a program could be made to scan all a user's plugins, get the plugin name and Pack ID, and then send the results to a server, if many people did that, we'd have built a pretty comprehensive list that should allow people to find missing plugins easier. But I'm not entirely sure how this Plugin Pack ID works.

You need to search for the brown box and query it. That will give you the name of the building that is missing. Once you have that you can search for it or post here if you still can't find it.

But if it's not a model or a building that is missing, but just a prop or a texture, then we will see no brown boxes...

But the plugin missing message won't appear if it is just a prop missing. That only shows when you are missing a model file.

OK! I'm back again.  Managed to reduce the missing pack messages down to pack # 160203587 by installing HKABT-bixel Vol01, 02, and 03.  Plop of Tage's mini-golf and "Eat Chinese" are coming up with "Brown Boxes".  Also am getting a "show-through" to minor grid squares around these particular Brown Boxes as if missing texture is also part of problem.
Installed HKABT-bixel vol13 and got pack # 1987362642 in addition to previous still remaining.  Am wondering if this could be caused by running the Cleanitol Remove list from ~vol13.
Some of the waterfront stuff like CNUT WFK rec I only had to bulldoze and re-plop.  I am beginning to think that problem is not actually specific to the water front items because also am getting "Brown Box" at the BRT Coal Mine. This little part I can fix because I actually found the Zip file for in one of my back-up folders.  After all, what better else to do since four to five inches of snow just got dumped on the ground and work place will be closed for two more days? (sound familiar, BarbyW?)

Thanks a bunch for everyone's help!  ;D

FYI SC4 Community -

After installing SimGoober's commercials from LEX DVDgot missing plugin pack # 376921989 with Brown Boxes still showing when plopping.
After re-exam of Plug-ins folder, found bldgprops_vol1.dat missing.
Re-installed bldgprops_vol1.dat and no long get any numerical plug-in pack missing messages. Yay!!!!  &apls
Still get Brown Boxes on plopping buildings and some growables.  Believe this is a "normal" type problem related to missing dependencies or redundant files. So - onward through the muck of Cleanitol operations or at last resort, rebuild again but more knowledgeably and with much better folder/file organization!!!

HAPPY WEEKEND!
