I have been thinking about transit capacity lately ever since I found out that bus stops should be 17,000 not 1000. (see http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12522.0) So then I started thinking about the capacity files I was using for the beloved RTMTV3. I had, in ignorance, been using the standard files. I changed to the CAM files, cause I have the CAM installed, and that did improve the capacities. However bus stops are now 11000 not 17000. According to the current thinking on Capacity, which files should be in use? These files were written some time ago for an older and quite different NAM traffic simulation. Should there be new files for the latest NAM?

CAM does include a Traffic Simulator (Traffic Plugin), however it is currently deprecated and it should be uninstalled (I'm talking about CAM's simulator, not CAM itself), and a NAM simulator installed instead (pls check if it is installed already). Consequently, RTMT's CAM settings aren't an option. Then the thing is simple, just install an RTMT capacities set according to your current NAM simulator. The files you listed correspond to older NAM simulators. Newer files can be found in the RTMT patches, released after V3.50; check Z's uploads on the LEX. These do have upgraded capacities. Costs haven't been upgraded accordingly, but this is another matter.

And ***Moderator*** please move this thread under the RTMT board.

Thanks Cogeo. I could not find any CAM traffic simulator in my plugins. Perhaps I dont have it, perhaps I could not guess the name. Do you know what it would be called?

I found and installed the RTMT patch. It all seems to be working right now. Thanks for the help.

AFAIK, the z_CAM folder contains all of the traffic simulator related files (a_CAM is all the growth settings etc.). Given the naming it will be loaded after the NAM folder. If it's not there, you don't have the CAM traffic simulator.
