Hello,  I'm trying to make road-to-subway lots, similar to the NDEX Underground Tunnel lots.

I got the lots complete, and used SC4Tool to make them transit-enabled and to change cars/buses into subway and vice-versa, but its not working.  I separated the residential/industrials zones with a subway and my new lots, but the residents won't travel to the industrial zone.   ()what()

Any help is appreciated.

Did they travel by car before you place these lots to the industrial zone?

May you have no traffic to the industrial zone?

Yes they traveled by car.  But before they entered the lot they just turned around.

As I remind - the only way to make an transition lot from road to subway is to make a transit switch like this:

So what you are saying is that the only way this will work is to use Pedestrians, not Cars?  None of the residents drive to the Tunnel, they just walk.  That is really lame...

Then how can I combine a parking lot with a subway station, so that residents will also DRIVE to the tunnel?  If they only walk, then it defeats the whole purpose of having this tunnel in the first place...

What I will explain is that a Lot which should transfer road traffic into subway is nothing easy because of some internal things in SC4.

If you want to chance the way your Sims travel to a destination they have to chance the mean of transportation, but because of some facts they don't want to do.  :angrymore:

A transition lot you want is a subway-station with the look of a road. But you can't force your Sims to use the station if there are other (shorter/faster) ways to travel to the destination.

Further informations about all you need you find here: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?board=235.0

You can solve it, but first "RTFM".  ;)

Okay thanks, that is some good information.

Something else you have to consider:

All kind of Transit Enabled Lots work only as an alternative route for the Sims.

What does this mean:

1. If there is no way to reach e.g. residential zones other than (a) route(s) with TE lots they will show the no-road-access ZOT.

2. The (alternative) route over the TE lots mustn't be longer than the "original route" made out of network pieces (streets, roads, highways, railways etc.)

3. Be careful with the transit switch cost. This is a time value that is connected to the speed the main traffic is travelling through the lot. it is usually smaller than 0.1 (there are formulas for that but I don't have them ready here at the moment). It should be bigger than 0 though as transit switch cost 0 will cause undesired routes from the simulator.
