I have already found out how to edit the lots (I found it here).
But that thread doesn't say anything about the buildings (nothing about the part I'm interested in, anyway). So, can you replace the buildings on a maxis reward, and still have it functioning normally?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Daeley made a tutorial for making rewards from scratch. (Link) which you may find useful.

Like Andreas said in the posts at Simtrop, the Instances have to stay the same for the reward chain to work.  I would start by opening SimCity_1.dat in Reader and use the Exemplar Analyzer.  When "search" is clicked all of the Exemplars will be displayed.  The Maxis Reward Builgins (and perhaps Lots too) all start with RW.  You could find the one you want or copy/paste them all into a new dat.

One part of the Building Exemplar is the RKT1, and this is the TGI of the model (the lowest Instanced S3D).  By switching this value with the model of your choice, your model will appear.

Thank you very much for your reply, Lowkee33  :satisfied: It was really helpful.

Hi, Lowkee,

I guess here is the answer that I was looking for. I would like to have my own rewards that replace the Maxis rewards.
Of course it is simple to edit the Maxis rewards. The only thing I cannot change is the building. But of course that is exactly what I want to do.

If I understand correctly I should do this:

1. Open the Maxis reward in LE, edit it a bit and save.
2. Open Reader, go to the building exemplar and exchange the TGI values into the values of the Model I have in mind.
This sounds simple, but does it work?

Edit: no it does not.

What I did now was:
1. Extract the building of the Mayors house from Simcity1.dat.
2. Save this building as a separate file.
3. Edit the RKT1 entry of the building and put the G and I values of the model I want to see on my lot, meaning I exchange the reference to the Maxis model into a reference to the model I want to see.
4. Fire up LE and open the Mayors house lot. It shows the new model and I edit the lot. This lot repelaces the Maxis Mayors house and has the same stats.

It's simple!

I made a small tutorial for it: It is here.
