Honour the Dutch peoples for there greatly comments  :D

@FrankU ; I will surely not hesitate to build another Dutch house. I've already started with one

@Getron ; Thank, my friend

@Matthijs ; Thanks mate!

@Buzzit ; Special for you a tutorial (also posted on splines)
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
There wasn't really a tutorial for 3dsMAX so
if you want to criticize soomething. FEEL FREE !!

I'm going to recreate the facade of this building (the black building)

Therefore we need.
-Healthy brains
-A cup of tea or coffe
-3DSmax / Gmax
-A laptop / desktop
-Maybe a scratchpad with a pencil
-A good radio station
-Gimp or Photoshop

1 - Click this if you want to change your view ((you can change to top ,rear ,side ,front ,perspective ,and much more)I've just chosen the top view)
2 - This is a hard to understand object. Snaps are making sure that you will get the exact location you wanna have in your scene. Clicking them on is by just one left click and you should always choose for 2,5. You can change this by moving your cursor on the button then click and hol untill you see the menu. Then choose 2.5. If you do right click on the button you will see a screen like this. Make the adjustments shown in this pic

3 - My current cursor (with snaps toggled on)
4 - The rectangle I've just drawn
5 - Then name of the rectangle you can easily change it by clicking on it and then typ your wanted name
6 - A easy view navigator very useful when you want to have a quick view of something
7 - The way how you get to the rectangle (Shapes --> Rectangle)

Now we have created a rectangle we can move on by making the doors & windows
Note; As I already said things may differ from the real screen!

1 - A rectangle created in our big rectangle. This and all the other rectangles will look like windows in a moment
2 - Hard to see but these are your X,Y & Z axis They will provide you information in what kinda direction you have to move certain things.
3 - If you want to adjust you rectangles you can do it right here.
4 - At the tools tab you can see the tool array. Use this tool to multiply your rectangles to prevent doing the same thing.
Just fill in the menu click on preview (to watch if it's a good array) and click on OK

1 - Scroll down till you reach Attach
2 - Click on it
3 - Right mouse click then follow the pic and click
4 - Attach these rectangles with each other
5 - Save your work (click on one of these buttons)
6 - Just shift the door a little bit off the big rectangle.

1 - Select (and choose the amount (normal wall volume is 0,4))
2 - Here's your facade.

Next time if someone requests it I will include windows, doors textures, etc.
Whatever you request

FrankU

Hey Ernst,

Are you going to do a tutorial? Maybe that will be interesting to a lot of people, but maybe you better post it in a separate thread?

supremec

Your latest BAT look very great  &apls, and I can't wait to see the facade you making  ::)

peter007

Hey folks,
I just bought a digital Camera
this one

like it?

Well with this thing I can easily make pictures from the areas I want to create. So first the second take Dutch Rowhouses will be photographed and modelled. I'm already very enthusiastic about it. You too?

But now replies.
@netmod - Thank you!
@supremec - Me too, but first I want to start on the dutch rowhouses.
@Franku - Yes i'm going to do a tutorial but first I will post it here and when it's complete I will correct it and put it on the tutorials forum ;)

Hey Kelis thanks. well Lets give it a shot  ::)

Do you like them? Of course I will BAT some buildings of this. But I'm not totally sure which buildings...

-Ernst

FrankU

Nice images Ernst,

I'd say start with the easier ones: the row houses. But anything will be welcome.

Buzzit

nice pictures and nice quality!
how much did that camera cost? as i need a camera aswell :)

peter007

Replies;

Buzzit; I sent you a PM
FrankU; Thank you. I had the most motivation on the older ones so I started with them. When I will start with the rowhouses I will contact you for some feed back.

Update;
I opened up a Bat Thread at Simtropolis so I could get more feedback there.
But I also made some progress on another Dutch building.

supremec

Very good start  &apls I want to see more  ::)

@supremec ; Thank you, well here's more

I've been working again on my Dutch buildings and this came out.

They're still untextured and I'm trying to keep that untill I think I've BATted enough buildings.

Buzzit ; Thank you!
Sciurius ; Thanks for the compliment my friend!

I've finished one of my houses from my previous update
This came out:

They're based on a real house in Holland, but I thought that they we're to clean so I made them a bit dirtier and a bit less maintained.

Ooh yes and I've upgraded to 3ds Max 2012 and the viewports are soooo much better.

-Ernst

supremec

Too much clean  :D but it is excellent   &apls  &apls

The rood on the yellow house is really weird. Are you sure there is not a traditional triangular roof behind the facade?
Otherwise it's a nice project.
