The State of Nesara: Update Thirty-Eight

At the meeting hall inside the Nesara Executive Council building today, James Brooks officially handed over his presidency to Dominique Dionne, marking the end of an era and ushering in only the second presidential reign in Nesaran history. James Brooks, whose house still stands on the corner of Intersection Street and Country Road (the very first house built on Nesaran soil), gave a short speech thanking the public for their unwavering support during the vital formative years of the state, and concluded by stating he was leaving it in most capable hands. At the end of his speech, a Nesara Council spokesperson announced that Brooks' house will be the very first building mandated as a Heritage Site in the state's history.

Coinciding with the Dominique Dionne's presidency was the unveiling of the new Nesara Police and Fire Department HQ, also rumored to be the base of the Nesaran intelligence. The new building was initially estimated to cost $5 million, but ended up costing nearly $8 million upon its completion. President Dionne's successor as director of the NPFD, Mr. Farooq Uthman, stated how proud he was of the NPFD's achievement in making Nesara one of the safest places to live in the world. That being said, he continued, there was still a lot to be done in terms of continuing to keep the streets safe. Nesara was experiencing a growing underground drug smuggling scene, he stated, one which needed to be taken care of before it grew any bigger and started to have a major impact on Nesaran society.

The Brooks residence on the corner of Country Road and Intersection Street. Opposite it is the original Nesara Council Building, also rumored to soon be given the Heritage Site title.

Being given a Heritage Site title means the building will always stay in its original form and will be taken care of in the most delicate of manners in order to keep it in good shape. Brooks has stated he will retire to the outskirts of Cedar on a land presented to him by the Nesara Executive Council near the home of the President of Svanskinahya, also rumored to be soon given the Heritage Site title as the country is thought to be defunct and the home has not been resided in or maintained for years. The Nesara Executive Council recently issued a letter to Svanskinahya requesting the country to kindly reply back if it intended to keep the home in its name, but in the event that there is no reply, the council will enter the Svanskinahya Estate and begin maintenance work in order to open it to the public as part of its Nesara Heritage and History Protection and Promotion Initiative. If it is given the Heritage Site title as expected, the original contents of the house, from something as small as a candle holder to the larger items, such as furniture, will all be left in their original locations and will only be cleaned up and maintained. Heritage Sites, as part of the NHHPP Initiative, will be open to the public for viewing free of charge.

The Nesara Chamber of Commerce released a report yesterday on the retail industry in the state, and the reported growth continues to be outstanding. The Cedar Mall was at the center of the growth spike, with the mall as a whole selling nearly $500 million the past year, while the retail industry in Nesara as a whole turned out $1.8 billion in revenue. An encouraging sign was that nearly $200 million were made in Nesara products and goods, which presents a healthy outlook for the short term future in terms of economic growth. Exports from Nesara topped $1.2 billion, with the main markets being the mainland United States and Canada.

Recent trends have suggested that because of the lack of import tax, quite a few traders in Nesara have begun operating wholesale businesses, whether it is for a growing number of Asian customers looking for North American or South American made products, or vice versa. While not enough market research has been done on the trend, the report suggested that certain heavy machinery resellers were targeting Pacific Rim customers as demand for American made heavy machinery increases. The goods from South America coming into Nesara are mostly garments and their accessories, made in factories mostly in Central America that are consolidated by the traders in Nesara and then sold by cartons to customers. This would explain the recent surge in demand for warehousing in Cedar, which now far exceeds the supply. Additionally, calls for the seaport which was planned to be built but has yet to take off the ground is growing by the day, as frustrated traders and factories have to ship their products out of Portland in Oregon, a long and costly drive from Nesara.

Finally, we leave you with the street guide of Cedar. Although it doesn't cover the entirety of the city, it does cover the most central part of it. Enjoy!

EPISODE TWO: CHAPTER EIGHT

Ray looked out towards the town as he cast his line into the river. Although he had employees to fish out his catches for his business nowadays, he still enjoyed taking one of his boats out into the Wildbank River every now and then for some relaxation. It still amazed him how, in only three short years, what the town had become from its origins as a single hut Ray Black had built to distance himself from the world. Now, the legend of Wildbank was stretching through Haven, and Ray Black was becoming a mythical hero – a freedom fighter in times of great tyranny.

Things had become much easier since Derek Light opened his fueling station on Cross Street – since almost every type of machinery relied on Tilkan gas, a reliable and continuous source was needed, and that was exactly what light was providing. His supplier would usually come in twice a week, and the gas was rumored to be coming from the north, in Earthen territory, but Ray did not look too much into it. What was important was that the gas continued to come, because Wildbank was starting to rely very heavily on it.

Ray could see the construction of the new bank the Wildbank Municipality was opening up. That's what they called it, Tiberius and Ray, the "Wildbank Municipality." Since the growth of the town went through the roof, they organized a form of government to handle the town's affair and defense, and called it the Wildbank Municipality. Of course, it only had three members: Ray Black, Tiberius Driver, and Sheriff Turner Tower. In order to protect the town's wealth, their first order of action was to sanction the construction of a town bank, which was now well underway.

The contractor was called Gratt Bond, a young man who had come with his wife from the west after the Haven Republic demanded he go to Janneh City and join the military. He ran away that night, and headed east until he found Wildbank, where he had been ever since. Ray was impressed with his work, so much so that he registered Bond Construction for him, and has been giving him jobs around town ever since. He now had about twelve employees working under him, and he was scheduled to hand in his latest project in no more than three months.

Just as he was about to throw in another line in the river, hoping for better luck this time, his communication device went off loudly, throwing him off course. He groaned loudly, and picked it up from the side of his hip where he had it stored. It was from Tiberius, and when he read it, Ray immediately became worried.

***Very Urgent. Half a mile northeast of town. Come now***

I was preparing the update for Cedar a couple of hours ago when I noticed several of my residentials alongside Brooks Avenue were missing all their props. I destroyed them, regrew them, and then exited the game and restarted it. It was the same issue, and everytime I exit the game and restart it, more and more plots get affected by it. I did some research on the forums, and what is happening to me is pretty similar to what I read about Prop Pox.

How do I solve this problem? Does this mean my Haven region is affected as well? I do not have neither CDK-OWW 2 or PEG_OWW2_BDK_RESOURCE.DAT installed - just the CDK Seaport files. PLEASE HELP! :(
