FrankU,

I was thinking about the bridges for cattle, sometime halfway a ditch. But still the Dutch Ditches are really nice. Can't wait to test them.

Nice work with the random chance.  I was having troubles replicating myself.  Prop Time of Day seems to be the key.  Another way to find the property when adding it is to type it in and hit the down arrow on the keyboard.  You could also type in something like "prop t", and this will find prop time of day ("building/" will get you to the family property).

RKT4 doesn't have to be 16 reps though (at least, on my computer). 16 reps is for when you want the model to change into another model, like the CP semi-seasonal trees.  If you do go for 16 reps, the last three should probably be empty though.  There is a very off chance that the 0x00000000 instance is a model.  Also, should people have to use your exemplars as a template, you wouldn't want confusion about nesseseties.

For these, you may also consider making the Occupant Size 1,1,1 (or less) so that MMP have more room to breathe.

As for the actual lotting, I think Orange's Walls would make a great edge for the ditch.

Anyway, great work.

Nice ditches, but I have seen smaller (narrower) water ploppables somewhere, which might be better looking. I will search for them later today, see if I can find them again....maybe I still have them in my Plugins.

Yes, Maybe there is a useful bridge somewhere, or prop of a wooden plank/board that I can use to make a small bridge. Would be nice indeed.
I also could expand the pack with a small windmill and maybe other props.
I think I will upload the set this weekend to the STEX. Additions can be made later. Then you have something to play with and come up with improvements or additions.

Thanks. There might be a slight chance though that the props disappear for a short while around midnight. I did not have the patience to wait a whole day cycle (how long does it take anyway? I always play with full daylight all the time).

I had the feeling that I needed all 16, although there is indeed no second prop. It felt a bit superfluous, but I copied the properties from a Maxis prop that does work the way I wanted it.
It might be correct that 8 reps is enough. Maybe I';ll find time to check that out, but being a bit lazy and having many other projects at hand (like my farm lots, the windmills, my two children and wife etc.  ;D) I fear it is going to take some time.

I did do that! after I had made all lots. So I had to relot all of them  :(
But that makes plopping MMP stuff easy and that is one of the purposes of this set.

Thanks for the tip, but no no no! Stones we do not have in this country. We only use them for very special purposes, because they need to be imported.
Along important dikes and large canals we use indeed stones: basalt mostly, but the agricultural ditches do not have any stones.

Maybe you mean Simgoober's irrigation canals? They have walls or brown soil as edges. Not Dutch enough.
Or the SPIC by RebaLynn (Simpeg.com)? They are nice. I use them too. They are good for other purposes and can be combined with my lots.

Thanks for the comments.

Would it be good to publish the RKT4 story as a separate tutorial?

I wouldn't think so.  In my experience, the timing will last for the hour that it is set.  If a prop is set for 1,6 it will appear from 1:00am-6:59am.  One can have a prop begin at 1:15 (1.25), but I believe the end time is always right before the next hour.  Also, since 12:00am is "0", there is no "24" that the game knows of.  Should work fine set to 0,24.

The cheat code "whattimeizit" will set the time, so you can test timed props pretty quick.

The 24 hour clock is actually a variable we can control.  In the Main Simulator there is a property "24 hour clock speed (time magnification)".  By default, this is set to 135.  (24/135)*60 = 10.6 minutes for a day cycle.  Sound about right anyone? Havent tested.  I do know that I lowered the value to 40 for my game to make the day/night cycle longer.

FrankU

So, it took me a while, but now I was able to put some of the work I showed here on the STEX.
The lots have their own icons, there is a read me to every upload and the files look correct to me.
Please have a look and when there is something you want to say, please contact me here.

I released the Dutch Ditches. If you think there should be some kind of addition (a small bridge was requested by Getron already) or otherwise some change, please feel free....

I could not let you wait until I had finished all windmills I have in mind. So I released the first set of four, named the FrankU Windmills Project Set 1. The second set might come quick, because that is almost finished.

Then a slightly edited version of my FrankU Farm Prop Families (version 1.1 updated). You need them to make my lots work. You can also use them yourself, of course.

A small thing I made, because I thought I could use it is the Gizmo waterflora as props. In the end I did not use it myself, but who knows: you or I might need it some day.

Please comment?

@Lowkee: thanks for the info.

...but the stuff your creating is making for greater and better gaming experience well worth the work to share ;)... not to mention, making many sims happy to live in a sim-city with Frank-n-peppered lots... ??? ::)

I hope that you'll live long enough....lol....
Great upcomings and great plans. Need some BATs for Project #6? Find pictures of what you'd like.
When I'm finished with the MFP1 project next week, I will have time to do some more BATting. Not rushing things though, now that I know you'll be busy with those stage 1 to 5 farms. ;)

Good job on the windmills btw, they look better than before.

Brechtje means Deltaplan, or the Delta Works. It is a plan that was commenced after the terrible flooding of our southwestern islands region in january 1953.
It was a plan. It is now more or less finished and consists of several dikes, dams, bridges and polders. It was a huge undertaking. One of the greatest feats is the Oosterscheldedam which is a dam that is open under normal circumstances, but which can be closed when high tides and storm are foreseen.

If you are intersested you might take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Works

Brechtje, I have to disappoint you. I am not even able to BAT a single cube. And I am not going to change that. Anybody may BAT, I stick to the Lotting. I have to choose somewhere. But there was already someone working on concepts of BATs for the Oosterscheldedam, so maybe someday....?

mrbisonm

Thanks FrankU, it was a typing error then, should have guessed. That will be a big job Batting that monster dam, if someone finds the courage to do so.

It's good to see that you released some lots.
I hope that you can find someone to Bat some Delta works quick. It's tough for sure.

Indeed, i made a writing error. :D

I hope that the person who's occupied with that Oosterscheldekering will finish the job, because i can't wait to use that dam, the haringvlietdam, the philipsdam etc... in my Netherlands map. Offcourse i'll use your creations too. In the mean time, i'll finish my netherlands map :).

Hi Brechtje,

Will you show us some results of your project?

Hi Brechtje,

Will you show us some results of your project?

Sure. It's a massive map, 40x40. I'm currently busy looking for a nice texture mod for the terrain itself, and adding more details in Zeeland and Zuid - Holland. You can see some evolution in the pictures:

Please, do tell me what you all think of it. Do remember that this is my first map ever made. You can see i even made the Verdronken land van Saeftinge, Neeltje Jans,  Roggeplaat, Hompelvoet, Tiengemeten, de Biesbosch, etc...

But unfortunately, i've some difficulties when i load the maps in SC4. Then they sometimes won't fit nicely, as you can see below:

It's perhaps best to copy the picture to your computer and zoom into see what i mean. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

EDIT: Never mind, with the terrainmod i now use, it solved itself :D .
