I'm with Amerikaner, a great Berlin map! I'm working on my new recreation of Berlin and a large map of the region would be incredible.

Thanks Amerikaner for this request and thanks Dobdriver for your maps

Just a question dob (or anybody else).  Is there a way to fill in a couple of tiles that are missing along the shoreline on the Lima map?  It seems some land has been cut out.

Thanks!

dobdriver

G'Day Devotees,

Well long time no see, and a new forum to boot. I wonder if there is a way to spruce it up a bit and ditch the ads in the middle of the page.
Well after a data disk loss which luckily I managed to save the work I'd done on Rotterdam and Galway, I only really lost the work on Worcester County and a few Rendered images.
The disk is a train wreck though but things are back to normal  %confuso

Gee dob's mail bag is looking a bit full.

Thanks Kelis, and some good news about the stex too. The throttle is off and it is opened to 20MB. I may update plan B and hold all my maps there also. I'm not so sure about the absolute text though. it was optimised for 1280 pixels wide.

Supremec Thanks mate and you keep up your terrific work with the bat.

Thanks Ctrl+Z, You're welcome. Barcelone will soon be on the stex. Anytime.

Thanks Rushman, Glad you found it over at the stex. It's just a hair's width too big for the lex.

Thanks John and thanks for your request, Your map is coming along superbly. I worked out a beaut technique while making Rotterdam for dealing with below sea level. (which I may add will be arriving shortly)It will probably see the light of day later in the week.

Ah Tangoboy Thanks and you'll be doubly happy as Galway is also completed.

Thanks Sc-4, I see Blade has nobly uploaded his channel islands maps to the lex so for the time being these will not be on the horizon from me.

Thanks Amerikaner, I'm not sure what has happened to The Berlin upload to the lex, along with my comments. I shall re-upload today or tomorrow.

Always good to get a seconder for a map Kelis, thanks mate.

Jm mate, Thanks for bringing it to my attention about the config and I apologise for such a tardy response to your query. I seen it and when I went to respond sc4d was offline and did not return until after I had returned to work where I have no access to the ether-webby. I must have been half asleep when I painted the config and rendered the map. Any how it has been rectified now, there was three missing tiles with land and I painted out a fourth containing only water.

Ok you may have already worked this out, the easiest way to add the missing tiles is to:

1. Re-downlown the map.
2. Re-import the map into SC4 but rename it. ie Lima1.
3. Copy and paste the new config into the old region ie Lima over-writing the original.
4. Start SC4 and open the old region Lima, you will see three flat green tiles. Do nothing but memorise their position.
5. Open the new region Lima1 and thence open and save those three tiles only. Ensuring to properly start a new city in each and name them distinctly.
6. Close SC4 and navigate to Lima1 in the SC4 region directory and copy and paste only the three city tiles you have opened, named and saved to the downloads folder in the region directory.
7. Start SC4 and open the old region Lima again. This time click one of the new green tiles and choose to swap the city, a dialogue will open and navigate to the downloads folder and choose the city it corresponds to. (If you don't name them they will all show as New City and be totally impossible to tell which is which.)
8. Do the same for the remaining two cities and job's done mate. The full Lima map in all it's glory.

Hope this'll get you out of a bind. Once again sorry for it's lateness.

Well that the mail done, quite a bit really.

Now onto the show partl. What have we got, what have we got.

Again I made two maps and they are both in the download. One is full height and dry, the other lowered with some game water.

Co. Galway is 94.208km x 69.632km.

While it's not quite the whole county, it's pretty darn close. With another of those Irish cameras I might add.

Ok cats That's it for the time being.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

G'Day Devotees,

Well the map-o-matic is practically back to good as new, I polished her grease nipples and installed twin overhead foxtails. She goes like a scalded cat.

A little bit of mail to be seen to, thanks  gents and gentesses.

Hey cool Jm, Thanks.

Thanks Tangoboy, and you'll be pleased to know this one will be a little quicker in the making.  ;) (See comments above ^)

Thanks Supremec, How's Ibiza treating you?

Koh Samui is 22.528km x 28.672km.

Wonderful maps man, as always.  &apls &apls I particullary love the "Koh Samu" one, because it's not too big, not too small, good for a medium city in fact. :)

Hey dobdriver,

If you are accepting requests I have a couple.  I would like a map of Tripoli, the capital of Libya.  If you happen to have enough time a map of Benghazi, Libya would also be great.

I appreciate your great mapping skills - having used many of your maps already.  I hope you want to lend your skills to these two Libyan maps.

jibjohn

wow, i am really really impressed by the norwich map, much better than i imagined, i just spent a long weekend away so this is a real surprise. i am now considering maybe a first md, but for now thanks so much. now i just need a way of making the water brown! thank you once more, john

portlandexpos04

Maps are looking great as always dob!  BTW, I sent you a PM.  Please let me know if it's not too much trouble.  Thanks!

jamesyons

If you have time can you make a map of the Chicago metropolitan area.

LemonLime

These maps are all great, but they don't quit cut it for me. Would it be too much to ask for a Gothemburg map?  :)

Hey dobdriver,
I have another request :)
Could you make a map of Liège, Belgium? Not too big if possible, lol. Maybe 6x7-ish range.

thanks ;D

dobdriver

#255
G'Day Devotees,

A great sadness descended upon me earlier in the week when I learned of our fearless leader's untimely death. Like so many before him a victim of road carnage and at a very young age with the whole of his life ahead of him. My thoughts go to his family whom I do not know, at their loss.

So raise your glass and drink a toast.

To Adroman.

I decided to update Mackay and re-release it as a lot may have seen.

Now on to some cheerier news.

Thanks Guillaume, I see also you have some wonderful bats now available on the lex. That's great stuff mate and good to see.

Cool Supremec, now you'll have to post a few piccies too. Thanks.

Thanks Eugene, I have a couple of maps that I hope you find enjoyable.

Thanks and you're welcome John. The lower than sealevel stuff lifted nicely. ;)

Thanks Portland, I have three extensions to the LA map pack.

No worries Jamesyons, Chicago is not a problem. Thanks.

Thanks Lemonlime, I have some Gothenburg maps cooking just for you.

Liège is on the books, Thanks Orchid22.

And for this weeks show we have...

Adro's Mackay is 53.248km x 53.248km.

Next out of the box are courtesy of Eugene, Thanks mate.

Tripoli is 53.248km x 45.056km.

Wait for it, not one but two.

Benghazi is 45.056km x 53.248km.

A dictator's Paradise.

Moving right along a request courtesy of Bryan 1998 at Simtrop. Thanks mate.

Kellogg is 40.96km x 49.152km

I looked at lowering this map for game water but then it would've ended up 2km2

Thanks to Portlandexpos for these next requests.

Anaheim is 40.96km x 45.056km.

Burbank is 47.104km x 26.624km.

Santa Clarita is 20.48km x 15.36km.

These maps can be seamlessly joined in to the LA map pack.

Luckily I had time for this next request courtesy of Jamesyons, Thanks mate.

Chicago is 49.152km x 57.344km.

Al Capone eat ya heart out.

And last for today is courtesy of Orchid22, thanks mate.

Liège is 28.672km x 28.672km.

Just to prove every place in the low countries aren't always so, I had to lower this a bit (about 40m) to get the game water into play. ;)

That's it I'm afraid, for now.

Thanks for looking and as always have a great day. One never knows when it will be their last, make it count!

Cheers
