News:

The SC4 Devotion Forums are no longer active, but remain online in an archived, read-only "museum" state.  It is not possible for regular members to post or use the private messaging system, and no technical support will be provided for any issues pertaining to the forums in their current state.  Attachments (those that still work) are accessible without login.

The LEX has been replaced with SC4Evermore (SC4E), and SC4E maintains an active Discord server.  For traditional forums, we recommend Simtropolis.

I have been away from the site and the game for a few months now.  This is my busy season and work comes first.  I just wanted to say that I like the new layout/format of the forum.  You all work hard and tirelessly, and I thank you for that.

The adds fine, that is what supports the site, and helps to keep things running.  Keep up the great work, you guys and girls have some great talent.

Peace

Perhaps my 5th post here but I am familiar with the matters "at hand" here. I'm an admin of a large forum, also about a game, and also "own" and/or host different forums and mailing lists.

Changes in a system always result in rebellion, especially if the system "as is" always worked without real problems or conflicts. That most systems for fanbased communities work because someone (in SC4D's case jeronji) decides to pay for hosting, bandwidth usage etc. is something easily overlooked by the masses. If I look back on what I downloaded from the LEX (too often double times because I tend to get overzealous with deleting dependencies about 3x a year) I can only say that the free ride was nice but that it's over now. And what does it actually cost for me to help such a great site as SC4D?

I understand that not everyone can spend money as relatively easy as I can but it's not about the amount that you support a site. Jeronji knows that too, just look at the different packages he offers for subscribers. And perhaps you can find other less wealthy members and decide to support this site with more. Be creative but please don't call the change unfair, unnecessairy or stupid. Remember:

"Access to the BSC Lot Exchange is a privilege and not a right."

EDIT: it is my 9th post actually :o
