Today was the opening day of the last section of the A1. The A1 is a full east-west route through the Netherlands. The road has many different sections, 4x2 lanes, lanes 2x4, 2x3 lanes and 2x2 lanes in the last section. The A1 is a frequently used road by freight traffic. The expectation is that this final section will be used by many freight traffic. As is known, the new part of the A1 a toll road, this is the first toll road in the Netherlands.

We look at the bridge over the canal. Previously started here the N1. At this moment we still working on the widening of this bridge. The bridge will have 3 lanes each direction.

The half cloverleaf interchange has been completely redesigned. The old viaducts were replaced for wider viaducts. Also, the curves become smoother and there is a roundabout built to connect to the new N630.

The viaducts of the new A1 show that there is room reservation included. Perhaps in the future, the A1 is toll free and expanded to 2x3 lanes.

Ramp, Vlissingen- North.

Noise barriers with behind it farmland?

The new junction with the N631.

The toll plaza.

Overviews of the new section of the A1.

The A1 at this road section is not very busy. This is because Vlissingen is still under construction, only the northern part was built.

Thanks for commenting on the previous update! Comments are also welcome again!

Just lets get to the point now... Any chance of you returning to RCT2?  Judging by the screens here you still see how stuff works.

What are you studying at the moment? Anything related with planning?

Paul 999

How did you get to this site? and no, rct2 is really dated. Currently I'm studying for Bachelor of Built and Environment.

Also i will suggests to stay on-topic. Drop me a pm for off-topic stuff.

I think I will search more for inspiration in your topic  :)
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

wallasey

I really like your last interchange! Only thing I would add is that it may look better with streetlights, although that is just my bias towards lighting coming out there!

Now I am eagerly awaiting your first NAM 30 update.  ;)

Wow, very impressive work with the RHW, the interchanges are perfectly well done
I am also eagerly  awaiting the new update with the NAM 30  ;D

Paul 999

Thanks for the replies! Yet not a complete update whit NAM 30. I have some updates ready to be put online. These are all made in my summer vacation. Maby i adjust it before they come online.

Well time for an update, the construction of the A1 and A28 has caused the agricultural vehicles can no longer use of these routes. This creates an increase in traffic on the underlying road network. The heavy traffic on the narrow roads creates unsafe situations. A major renovation of the underlying road network will be necessary.

Part 1 - Adjustments underlying road network
Two new routes built along the A1, A5, and A28. These routes have an asphalt surface and have 2x1 lanes. The maximum speed is 80 km/h and overtaking is allowed. The road don't get a N number. We want to avoid that these roads will be used as transit route.

From the intersection with the A5 we arrive at a new crossroads. Right you see the space reservation of the A19 never built.

Roundabout, turn left towards Ressen, right towards the A1.

Towards the A1.

Connection to the A1 - Vlissingen Noord.

Second route, the turn will be converted to a roundabout wen we build a connection between the two new routes.

Overviews.

The yellow / orange line you see is a possible connection between the two new routes.

Bonus, the viaduct over the canal is expanded. RHW 5.0 Thanks!

Part 2 - Adjustments underlying road network
In this part of the update we look at the renovation of the underlying road network along the canal at Hoofdorp. We start this update on the viaduct over the A28 here could the agriculture traffic cross over the A28.

A new roundabout, turn left towards the viaduct over the A28, turn right towards Ressen, down towards Vlisssingen.

We follow the road towards Ressen. To ensure the safety and traffic flow tunnels are built. Because the new road is built for 80 km/hour is a floor crossing with the train not safely. In the Netherlands is the conversion of ground floor crossings to a tunnel a very hot item. In recent years there are no new ground floor crossings added, this seems a taboo. This is mainly because the railway manager ProRail pickup every opportunity to build tunnels under the rail network.

We continue our route and get off at the last roundabout, turn left towards the viaduct over the A28, up toward the Ressen.

Then we go back to the first roundabout and we turn to Vlissingen. After several miles we reach the next tunnel. You can see that there is room reservation is on the tunnel for a 4 rail track.

We continue the road to Vlissingen.

Then we come to a roundabout, turn right towards the A28 connection - Hoofdorp Zuid. Right towards Vlissingen.

The next roundabout, here we go straight to Vlissingen.

So that's it for this update, comments are always welcome!

That's a beautiful farmland!!! Nice work on it.

With the new RHW I could finally completed the widening of the A2. The A2 between the port Maasvlakte - Dieze South now has full 2x3 lanes. The old A2 ran through the city Maasvlakte. In the new situation run the A2 around the city border. The old A2 is degraded, there are level crossings and in some places, the second lane is demolished.

In the Netherlands, the route of the A2 is also widened such at Beesd (photos were taken by Chris at wegenforum.nl).

And after the widening, same location.

The A2 begins at the harbor Maasvlakte, this part is not covered for this update.

In the following RHW, I might widening this viaduct to 2x4 lanes.

The viaduct over the canal.

A viaduct over the rail connection to the Betuweroute.

The exit complex, here comes the old A2 and the new A2 together.

Overview, left you see the new A2. Right shows the old A2.

And an overview of the junction between the old and new A2. Below you see the old A2. Above you see the new A2.

We continue on the A2, and arrive at the junction with the A26.

The node is very complex and has a parallel structure. In the next update we will look at the The A26. The A26 is also widened to 2x3 lanes.

Here ends the widening of the A2. In the longer term we want to extend the widening of the A2.

Comments are always welcome!

Paul 999

In this update we look at the widening of the A26 at De Dieze - South. With the new RHW mod, I could build finally this part.

De A26 begins at the junction with the A2.

De fourth lane turned into an exit ramp.

This viaduct was widened to 2x3. Actually, this should be 2x4.

The connection to The Dieze - South.

Here is a new viaduct realized in the future it is possible to widen the road to 2x4.

This is a very busy point on the A26, when farr curves are available in 2x4, I will widen the A26 here.

The minister of infrastructure takes a lot of progress. There are many projects recently being implemented. In this update we see two projects that have recently been completed. These projects are part of the "Urgent-approach 30 bottlenecks" or "Spoedaanpak 30 knelpunten".

On 2008 the Netherlands is started the program "Urgent-approach 30 bottlenecks. This is thanks to the former Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment, Camiel Eurlings. Because the construction of roads choked by complicated regulations, the Dutch government launched the "Urgent-approach 30 bottlenecks". This made it possible to accelerate the main bottlenecks thirty ways to expand so as to increase mobility. The Urgent Approach characterized by simpler and quicker procedures, of course, keeping right of participation involved. Meanwhile, the program is completed and assessed. The conversion of 30 bottlenecks is now in full progress. In 2010 was the traffic jams spectacularly gone down. Also New Holland working at there bottlenecks.

If the above works are complete, will the roads network for New Holland robust and near by completion. After opening of these project, we can start  thinking about a time without congestion.

Boschelona - Witte Wielen (route modernize and add lanes)
The A9 is an old highway. The congestion on the exits led to dangerous situations on the highway. This highway is complete modernization, including a renovation of the intersections.

A27 Bossche Broek - Vught (route modernize and add lanes)
The A27 was opened four years ago. Meanwhile the road becoming a lot busier and locally are lanes added. Furthermore, the junction with the A26, with an additional lane.

That's it for now, you still have a credit for a map from me of the Spoedaanpak 30 bottlenecks. I will make that so soon as possible. Also there will soon be more information about the projects that are currently already under construction.

Congratulations. A second appearance in OSITM is quite an achievement and certainly well deserved.
